HOT OFF THE PRESS:
DUNN & DONE: IT’S TIME TO OPEN UP SCHOOLS OR STATE’S EQUITY GOALS ARE “JUST TALK.”
California’s rates of positive COVID-19 cases are plummeting, especially compared to other states, yet our economy remains shuttered and our schools remain closed. Working parents must choose between returning to work or educating their children at home. This is wrong. Further, closed schools affect the most vulnerable—low income, motel kids, those without internet access, and more. For all the progressive talk about EQUITY, it’s just talk. Open schools now. Let kids play sports. Note the positivity rates info cited is from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.
Utah: 10.7—entire economy open, including schools.
Florida 7.1—entire economy open, including schools.
Arizona 6.3—schools and youth sports open.
California 3.7 positivity rate—WHY ARE WE NOT OPEN?
