GOV NEWSOM CONSIDERS $7.6B COVID RELIEF TODAY:*

California legislators passed and sent to the Governor a $7.6 billion economic relief package yesterday, which he could sign as early as today. It includes $2 billion for small business grants, tax cuts for bars/restaurants/other businesses that received PPP loans after having to shut down, the Golden State Stimulus ($600 payments to low-income residents), licensing fee exemptions, and other budget appropriations. Still to be debated is the need to bring CA's PPP program into tax conformity with federal law, as well as plans for reopening schools.
