  • The Orange County Register recently released an article on OC’s 125 top influencers for 2021. The diverse list highlighted people who made a difference throughout the year and included OCBC’s President and CEO, Lucy Dunn, and OCBC’s 2021 Chair, Jena Jensen. Lucy and Jena have done a phenomenal job guiding OCBC as a business of impact and County resource throughout the pandemic. Many of OCBC's members made the list as well. OCBC congratulates Annette Walker, President of City of Hope Orange County, Michele Richards, CEO of the OC Fair & Event Center, and Maricela Rios-Faust, CEO of Human Options, Inc. Keep up the great work!

CITY OF HOPE TO HIRE HUNDREDS FOR NEW CANCER CENTER:

OCTA NAMED AMONG BEST PLACES TO WORK IN OC:
  • OCTA been awarded a Top Workplaces 2021 honor by the Orange County Register. The list of top workplaces is based solely on employee feedback gathered in a third-party survey. The anonymous survey measures 15 workplace culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization including alignment, execution and connection. CA COMPETES TAX CREDITS AND GRANTS:
  • GO-Biz is now accepting applications for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) and California Competes Grant (CCG). There are $140M in tax credits and $120M in grants available during this application period for businesses that are expanding and adding quality, full-time jobs in CA.   • Find a vaccine - Vaccination is one of the most important tools to end the COVID-19 pandemic. Please visit any local pharmacy or healthcare provider, or go online to Vaccines.gov, MyTurn.ca.gov or Othena.com, to schedule a vaccination appointment.
  • OC COVID-19 Hotline - The OC COVID-19 Hotline is available to answer questions about vaccine-related issues, including booking appointments, or assistance with transportation. Live operators are available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (714) 834-2000.
  • COVID-19 Testing - With more social gatherings occurring, COVID-19 testing can help prevent the risk of spread. OCBC will be hosting the Orange County Workforce Development Board to discuss the no cost services they can provide to the business community, including recruitment services, workplace compliance and workforce training funds. The Workforce Board has the authority to reimburse up to 75% of an employee’s wages while they are receiving On-the-Job Training. These services are available to for-profit businesses, private non-profit organizations, and public sector employers.

The meeting will be held virtually.
OCBC's Economic Development Committee will be discussing China's Economy, the Biden Administration's policies towards China and how they impact Orange County's economy. The featured speakers are Robert Mead, Associate Professor of Economics at California State University Fullerton and Jeremie Waterman, VP of China Policy and President of the U.S. Chamber's China Center.
