UC MANDATES COVID-19 VACCINATIONS:

All University of California campuses will require COVID-19 vaccinations before the fall term begins for all students, faculty and others. It will become the nation’s largest public university system to mandate the vaccines without full federal approval. UCI’S COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY:

All UCI students, staff and faculty to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before physically accessing the university’s locations and programs. Compliance must occur two weeks before faculty, staff and students are expected to be on campus for the fall term. Provisions for exceptions based on a medical exemption, disability, or religious objection will be available. More information.

OC SAN SELLS REVENUE OBLIGATIONS:

OC Sanitation District successfully sold $134M of Wastewater Refunding Revenue Obligations. This favorable rate was largely due to OC San’s strong financial condition demonstrated by its AAA bond rating by Fitch, Moody’s, and Standard and Poor's. OC San has a AAA rating from all three major rating agencies and is continually seeking efficiencies to ensure that the public’s money is wisely spent. Learn more.
SCE'S CHARGE READY TO EXPAND AVAILABILITY OF EV CHARGING STATIONS:

Southern California Edison's (SCE) new Charge Ready program provides financial incentives, infrastructure, and technical support to commercial, public sector, and multifamily property owners to offer electric vehicle (EV) fueling for passenger vehicles. Charge Ready aims to add 38,000 EV charging ports across the region. Learn more.

OCBC JOINS COALITION TO AMEND ONEROUS HOSPITAL SEISMIC MANDATES:
- OCBC, hospitals and business organizations statewide are calling on the Legislature to amend the state’s outdated mandate requiring hospitals to meet infeasible and unreasonable earthquake preparedness standards. Hospitals have spent billions to ensure their buildings can withstand an earthquake, but the state’s seismic mandate could force hospitals to close their doors. OCBC is asking for the standards to be reevaluated and delayed by seven years.
OCBC SUPPORTS BILL CLOSING DIGITAL DIVIDE:

OCBC recently testified in support of SB 556, a bill that helps bring high-speed internet to more communities. SB 556 is a critical step towards expediting the deployment of broadband infrastructure to connect students, businesses and residents living in areas where broadband options are limited. The Assembly Communications & Conveyance Committee voted to advance the bill yesterday. Thank you to Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva for voting yes!

Individuals who receive their first COVID-19 vaccine dose at a County POD site must schedule a second dose appointment as the Othena platform will only recommend the appropriate date. Walk-ins are accepted at County POD sites, but appointments are strongly encouraged. Everyone aged 12 and up without a medical exemption is encouraged to get vaccinated, especially with the highly contagious Delta variants in circulation. Schedule a vaccine!
