CA’S DIGITAL VACCINE RECORD TO PROVIDE CLARITY:
  • CA will soon offer digital vaccine records. Lucy Dunn, OCBC’s President and CEO has continuously advocated for vaccine verification. “It helps keep us informed as to who is vaccinated and not,” said Dunn. "It’s voluntary, personal, protected and as easy as adding it to your smart phone’s digital wallet like an airline boarding pass." Read more.

VACCINATED EMPLOYEES MAY TOSS THE MASK:
  • On June 17, Gov. Newsom signed an order that allows all vaccinated workers to go mask free except for those working in transit, K-12 schools and health care facilities.

SB 12 WOULD KILL HOUSING CONSTRUCTION:
  • "Lack of housing supply in all price ranges is the underlying driver increasing homelessness, reducing housing affordability, higher rents, longer commutes, a dying middle class and, without question, the “diversity, equity and inclusion” issue of our generation: especially when Black and Latino communities have the lowest homeownership rates since the 1930’s." Adding more barriers to new housing construction is not okay. Take action or read more.

ADVOCACY UPDATE
AB 701 INCENTIVIZES FRIVOLOUS LITIGATION AGAINST WAREHOUSES:
  • OCBC is opposed to AB 701, a bill that would spur litigation against OC’s logistics industry by establishing vague standards that are unworkable for warehouse operators acting in good faith. The bill falls short of actually creating new protections for workers, instead punishing employers that are vital for OC’s supply chain and economic competitiveness. Read OCBC’s letter of opposition
