A Word From Our
General Manager
| |
Happy Holidays: We’re all in it together!
Throughout the whole of human experience, across the divergent evolutions of our seemingly disparate cultural backgrounds, the human desire to strike a light in the heart of darkness rings as familiar as the biological needs for sustenance and shelter. As days grow short and nights grow cold, that old familiar call bubbles inevitably to the surface, quietly dictating a course of logic that ends in the only way it ever could - with your general manager perched atop a slick and slanting rooftop, fastidiously adjusting the solar powered fairy lights in the artificial wreath around the neck of a fiberglass cow.
| |
However it is that you celebrate, we hope you’re finding joyful means of sparking light in the heart of these ever-lengthening winter nights. Down at The Creamery, we’ve been real busy wrapping up another great year of service to our Hilltown Community. The holiday decorations are up, the staff craft fair is in full swing, and we’re packed to the gills with great stuffers for your seasonal stockings. If you’re a giver of gifts, we’ve got some good ones this year - including but not limited to brand new Creamery Swag for the co-op lover on your list!
Speaking of giving? We’re super excited to be partnered with WRSI, 93.9 The River as a drop-off location for their River Cares for Kids program this year. If you haven’t done so already, there’s still time to help Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America make a brighter holiday for one of 200 local children in Western Massachusetts. Just click on the poster down below and follow the link for a list of special kids and gifts on their list. Bring it on down to the store unwrapped and labeled, and we’ll make sure it gets where it’s going! But hurry: the good folks from The River are picking up those donations on Tuesday, December 13th!
In just a few weeks, we’ll all tumble headlong into another calendar year together. At some point, we’ll get our fill of egg nog and sweaters and start looking ahead to the year to come. We’ll outline our challenges, pick our battles, roll up our sleeves and do the good work. And there’ll be plenty of time for all of that. These next few weeks, though? Pretty lights in the dark.
Yours in eternal optimism,
~Lloyd

Old Creamery Co-op's
Staff Craft Fair
By Jesse Massaro
| |
We like to dedicate our December highlight to our incredible staff’s craft fair.
Our eclectic staff of local yokels have more than a few talents hidden up their sleeves.
Each year looks a little different, but it’s always a pleasant surprise to find out what incredible things everyone has worked so hard on.
| |
And that’s one of the best parts of being a Co-op, we have the chance to build up and support our community!
For us that looks like buying local and working hand in hand with other co-ops, but it always comes back to the people who show up and do the hard work to make this all possible. And who better to support than the folks showing up every day, people who live here, shop here, and many who have worked here for years (You might even know a few of them!).
| |
This year we’re able to offer the Cafe space for use, the tables are carefully laid out with all sorts of holiday goodness!
From crocheted plush toys, to hand carved hardwood spoons, there's house plants, there's gems and crystals, there are prints pulled from old analog presses, and tons of other cool things to check out.
| |
It's like a trove of hidden treasures, just waiting for the perfect home.
Come see if one reminds you of a beloved friend, or even if something special just finds its way home with you.
Open everyday, though to the New Year!!!
If the store is open the craft fair is open.

This month's GM monitoring reports: Co-op Ends

Big thank you to everyone who was so understanding about us closing the store early last week, we all got out to the alley for a few hours of fun. It was so much fun, in fact, that we forgot to take photos! This is the only photo that we were able to scrounge up, so: Thanks Mel! For taking a selfie for all of us!
It's hard to put into words how important it was for us all to get a little time to unwind and just enjoy each other's presence. We laughed so hard it hurt, we comizerated on the gutterballs, we even got a little competitive, but mostly we just had fun.
Another great year! Here's to plenty more.
