Greetings and Happy New Year,
As we closed out the first quarter of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, I am filled with pride reflecting on the remarkable achievements we have made. The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) continues to demonstrate why it is a leading force in the meetings and events industry and a cornerstone in Orange County’s economy.
We also honor the incredible legacy of Harris Rosen, a visionary leader whose generosity and dedication to our community have left a tremendously positive impact on the OCCC and beyond. His contributions to education, philanthropy and the hospitality industry serve as a guiding light for our commitment to excellence and service. I take great pride in the OCCC’s work with Mr. Rosen and appreciate his vision for the Center of Hospitality. You may take a moment to hear more about Mr. Rosen’s impact on the Center here.
In our 2023-2024 fiscal year, the OCCC generated an incredible $3.9 billion in economic impact for the region – an all-time record for the Center. This success comes directly from our unwavering commitment to excellence and the hard work of every team member. Thank you all for making this possible!
Our first quarter included FABTECH 2024, a premier manufacturing convention and trade show that made its debut at the OCCC. This event brought together industry leaders and innovators from around the globe, showcasing the advancements of the metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing industry. We also welcomed back the IAAPA Expo, which celebrated record attendance and featured a remarkable drone show that set a new world record, garnering international attention. Additionally, we marked a significant milestone in sustainability through our partnership with the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC). Together, we unveiled a new electric vehicle high-speed charging station, solidifying our commitment to environmental stewardship and enhancing the quality of life in our community.
As we move into the second quarter, I am excited about the opportunities before us. Our legacy of exceptional service and groundbreaking events positions us to reach even greater heights. Together, we will continue to deliver Unbelievably Real experiences that leave lasting impressions on our clients, attendees and partners.
