Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19): Guidance for Tuberculin Skin Testing and COVID-19 Vaccinations
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services has released Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19): Guidance for Tuberculin Skin Testing and COVID-19 Vaccinations, which provides guidance related to regulatory compliance with Tuberculin Skin Testing (TST) requirements after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccine Message from Dept. of Health
The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) is pleased that the partnership between the retail pharmacy partners of Rite Aid, Walmart and the Topco stores of Giant Eagle, Price Chopper, Redner’s, Tops, Wegmans and Weis with the early childhood education (ECE) professionals is assisting in vaccinating the workforce.
 
At this time, we know a number of efforts are continuing between these two groups to vaccinate ECE professionals.
 
For those professionals who have not been contacted, it is important that you do not wait to be vaccinated. You are eligible now and we want you to get vaccinated as soon as possible to protect you and allow children to attend child care.
 
We know that allocations of J&J vaccine are continuing to fluctuate, and that may necessitate the need to be vaccinated with either Pfizer or Moderna. All three vaccines are safe and effective at preventing hospitalizations, serious illness and death from COVID-19.

Pennsylvania Voluntary Lead in Child Care and School Drinking Water Testing Program
Governor Wolf has announced a free program to help schools and child care facilities identify and address potentially harmful lead exposure to children.
 
With federal funding from the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act, the Office of Governor Tom Wolf and the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) launched the Pennsylvania Voluntary Lead in Child Care and School Drinking Water Testing Program. Eligible schools and child care facilities can receive free water lead testing and related training and technical support through this program.
