December 22, 2022 - The Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning, Bureau of Early Learning Policy and Professional Development, has released the Announcement ELRC 22-09 Registration Fees for Department of Human Services (DHS) Certified Child Care Providers Participating in Child Care Works (CCW). The purpose of the Announcement is to announce that a registration fee will be paid to Department of Human Services (DHS) certified child care providers for Child Care Works (CCW) children who are newly enrolled effective January 1, 2023, or after. Four Days Remain for Important Requirements—Dec. 30, 2022 Deadline

Four days remain for the Dec. 30, 2022, deadline for two important requirements for certified child care providers.

• Child Care Works Deadline, Dec. 30, 2022: Owner/operator must complete the “Appendix I - Attestation of Professional Development” for the required professional development training for DHS certified child care providers participating in Child Care Works (CCW). Completed form should be sent to the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC). Those with questions or concerns should contact their ELRC.
• Certification Compliance Deadline, Dec. 30, 2022: Completed updated health and safety training for all staff. Contact the local regional certification office with questions.

Planning to Submit a PA Pre-K Counts Application? Attend a Regional Meeting!

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) has opportunities to participate in informational webinars and regional meetings to learn about the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts (PA PKC) program.

FY 2022-2023 is the last program year for the current five-year grant cycle of the PA PKC program. In the Spring of 2023, PDE will announce a full, competitive rebid. During the rebid, all eligible providers interested in receiving a grant must apply. It is important during the application process that eligible

applicants fully understand the program regulations and expectations so that informed decisions can be made regarding whether to apply. Learn more about upcoming webinars or access recordings.

Submit Your Application to the 2023 PA’s Equity in Early Childhood Education Champion Award

The Pennsylvania Equity in Early Childhood Education Champion Awards bring awareness to and highlight the equity work being done within Pennsylvania’s early childhood education and afterschool settings, by child care, evidence-based home visiting and early intervention professionals, and organizations which support Pennsylvania’s Early Childhood Education programs and individuals. In addition to the email announcing the survey, which will come from First Start Partnerships, this link can also be used to complete the survey.
