The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture (OCFA) identified the pressing need to save often rapidly deteriorating and poorly stored original blueprints of some of Central Oklahoma’s most historic and significant buildings in a manner that would preserve them for generations. While it was impossible to permanently obtain so many building documents and store them properly, the group set out to locate, collect, and scan as many sets of plans and renderings as possible and save them digitally.

As a result of these efforts, the OCFA obtained a generous grant from the Kirkpatrick Foundation and began to create the Architectural Digital Archives, an easy-to-use, searchable database in which architects and the general public have free access to some of our state’s rarely seen and most important pieces of history.

The digital archives live on our website and we are working to grow these archives. If you are a current member of the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture and would like to serve on this committee, please email us at okcarchitecture@cox.net.
