Affiliation Sites & Faculty Preceptors Continue to Grow

OCOM is growing the healthcare community of Central Florida one affiliate agreement at a time, one health professional at a time. Since executing its first clinical affiliation agreement in 2021, OCOM has traveled on an inexorable course to make new friends and clinical partners. As Florida’s newest medical school, the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (OCOM) has forged a path that has rewarded it with an exceptional venue from which its inaugural class can begin this fall. Just as flowers bloom in the spring, OCOM is blossoming into becoming one of the premier providers of physicians for the state of Florida

Success at Accepted Students Day

On February 16, the Admissions Team welcomed 50 accepted students to OCOM for Accepted Students Day. The day was filled with excitement, knowledge, and camaraderie among students, faculty, and staff.

OCOM’s inaugural class received a warm welcome from Dr. Kiran C. Patel, along with many faculty and staff members, to kick off the day. Students beamed with delight as they toured the campus, most seeing it in person for the first time. They also had the opportunity to attend rotating sessions to gain a deeper insight into specialties such as Research, Virtual Anatomy, Simulation, On-Doctoring and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.

A special thank you goes out to the Faculty and Staff who helped bring this day to life. The Admissions Team could only have done it with your help!

Elsevier X Apple Vision Pro

ICYMI: At the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Dean Robert T. Hasty, DO, announced a one-of-a-kind innovative partnership with Elsevier.

From March 10th, "We are excited to announce a partnership with Elsevier to be a Design Partner on a new, groundbreaking medical education solution for Apple Vision Pro," stated Hasty.

While this technology and product are being developed with our anatomy team, their focus remains on providing top-quality curriculum and instruction to incoming students.

"We continue to develop our multimodality virtual anatomy lab to support our case-based curriculum. Students will have anatomy year-round to support their foundations, system, and longitudinal courses," remarked Dr. Robert Minkes, OCOM Professor of Anatomy and Surgery.
