April 2, 2021
We would like to wish you and your family a very happy and healthy Spring Break! OCSA will be closed from Monday, April 5 - Friday, April 9. Have a wonderful break, and we will see you back the following Monday, April 12
Please note: There will be no conservatory classes the week after Spring Break, Monday, April 12 - Thursday, April 15. School dismissal will be at 1:45 p.m. each day.
Both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) DO NOT recommend traveling at this time in order to reduce personal and public risk during the pandemic. If you are traveling outside of California, the CDPH advises quarantining for seven days upon your return, regardless of COVID-19 test results.
Please click here to read travel recommendations from the State of California, and click here to read the travel advisory from the CDPH. The following graphic provides guidance from the CDC on COVID-19 testing after travel.
We all have a role to play in keeping our OCSA community safe. Thank you for doing your part!
OCSA will offer another opportunity for students, staff, and immediate family members to access free COVID-19 testing on the OCSA campus next Thursday, April 8 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please click here. Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive reminders via email and text 24 hours and two hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

Seniors: Save the date for a Senior Sunset/Movie Night on Friday, April 16 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.! The OCSA Leadership Class has organized a showing of the movie Knives Out in The Callero Family Foundation Plaza (DMS Plaza). Social distancing and masks are required and will be enforced.
Tickets will be available for purchase beginning next Friday, April 9 on MySchoolBucks. Sales will close on Thursday, April 15 or when space runs out. Check out the OCSA Senior Reps Instagram account (@Mel.Dana.Senioreps) for more information! This event is only available to current OCSA seniors.
Attention families of rising 8th grade students: Please remember that your course selection forms for the 2021-2022 school year are due today, Friday, April 2. Students can access the forms and video upload instructions needed to complete the course selection process in their Social Studies Google Classrooms. Course selection forms must be completed with a parent/guardian signature and uploaded via Google Form. Mrs. Musso, Middle School Counselor, will use the uploaded course selection forms to input classes in Aeries for rising 8th grade students.
Course selection forms for all other grade levels are past due. Forms received after the deadline will be dated and receive less priority for classes, especially electives. Thank you to all students who have already completed the course selection process.
The deadline to RSVP for the Annual Parent Meetings is rapidly approaching! If your child will be returning to OCSA for the 2021-2022 school year and you have not yet done so, we ask that you please confirm your attendance by Thursday, April 15.
Each year, all parents/guardians are required to attend this meeting as a part of the annual enrollment process. To view the available dates and times for each conservatory, and to submit your RSVP, please visit www.ocsarts.net/AnnualMeeting. Thank you in advance for your participation.
Have you submitted your nominations for OCSA’s 2020-2021 Volunteer Awards yet? The deadline to make a nomination is right around the corner! Click here to nominate a volunteer by Sunday, April 11. Please note, if you would like to submit multiple nominations, you will need to complete the form for each individual or organization.
Nominees should demonstrate ongoing commitment to OCSA through contribution of time and/or talents, participation in fundraising events, or support in areas of special need. Nominations can be submitted by OCSA families, support group members, faculty/staff, or administrators. Don't miss this special opportunity to nominate a deserving individual or organization! All awards will be presented during OCSA’s Virtual Season Finale on Saturday, June 5.
Attention seniors: Do you have something to say to your fellow graduates and the OCSA community? Want to help us reflect on this momentous year? Then we encourage you to submit a speech to present at graduation! If you are interested, please review the Graduation 2021 Speech Contest Flyer for full details and instructions.
All senior speeches must be uploaded to the Graduation Speech Contest Google Form by Monday, April 12. A volunteer panel of OCSA staff will anonymously read and select approximately 10 speeches to move on to the second level of review. Students will be notified by Friday, April 23 if their speech has been selected to advance to the next level.
Good luck and happy speech writing!
