AERIES PORTAL & REPORT CARDS
Please be reminded that the gradebook visibility section in the Aeries portal is currently closed and will reopen on Friday, June 25 at noon when final semester report cards become available. Please note that OCSA does not mail home report cards.
SCHOOL BUSINESS HOURS FOR SUMMER BREAK
As we transition to summer break, please be aware that OCSA will continue to offer limited campus availability for students and families. Beginning Monday, June 14, the Humanities Tower will be open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to provide assistance and answer school-related questions. OCSA will resume normal business hours when the 2021-2022 school year begins on Wednesday, August 11.

Please note: School counselors are on vacation until Monday, July 26. Questions about school schedules and course offerings will be responded to upon their return.
BECOME A PARENT MENTOR
Parents, remember back to your first year at OCSA. Would you have liked a veteran OCSA parent to welcome you and help you navigate the school? You have the opportunity to be that helping hand for next year’s new parents through our Parent Mentorship Program!

Through this program, we will be pairing each new family with a current family from the same conservatory. If you sign up to be a parent mentor, our hope is that you can answer many of your mentee’s questions about the campus, parent groups, volunteer opportunities, and any other questions that might arise.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor and resource to an incoming parent, please sign up via this Google Form. Thank you for being willing to adopt a new OCSA family!
JOIN MOCK TRIAL
Attention rising high school families: Is your student interested in joining OCSA’s Mock Trial team for the 2021-2022 school year? If so, please encourage them to join the Mock Trial Information Google Classroom (classroom code: mmb6agh). Auditions will take place at the beginning of the fall semester. Information about the program will be posted in the Google Classroom over the next week, and audition information will be posted toward the end of summer.

MENTORSHIP DEADLINE APPROACHING
Attention rising juniors: Applications for the 2021-2022 Professional Mentorship Program are due next Friday, June 18. OCSA’s Professional Mentorship Program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to gain exposure to real-world career paths, receive hands-on experience, and make a connection with a business professional during their junior year.

Please click here to apply! Upon completion of the application, all efforts will be made to match students with an OCSA Board member, alumni, current or alumni parent, or other professional from the OCSA community. Mentors will share their experiences, help explore career options, and give advice about college and/or professional development after high school. The program gives students an opportunity to “test-drive” a career of interest, receive valuable information about the realities associated with a chosen profession, and benefit from the guidance of a caring adult outside the family and school structure.

Please note that OCSA will work diligently to pair as many students as possible with a professional mentor, however, there is no guarantee that all students will be matched.
SUMMER WORK PERMITS
If your student should need a work permit during summer break, please email ocsa.administration@ocsarts.net. Please provide the details of the employment in the body of the email, including the name and address of the establishment, phone number, and supervisor’s name.

For Entertainment Work Permits (EWP), please follow the instructions found on the California Department of Industrial Relations website. The parent-signed EWP application must be accompanied by both the student’s semester report card and their attendance record, which can be downloaded from the Aeries portal. OCSA does not provide authorization letters for EWP applications during the summer.
VCA FORM REMINDER
Attention returning parents/guardians: Before you head off for summer break, it is critically important that you submit your mandatory Voluntary Contribution Agreement (VCA) form for the 2021-2022 school year. The conservatory directors use pledges from their parents to build conservatory budgets and programming for next school year. If you haven’t yet done so, please click here to submit your VCA today.

Don’t forget! The first conservatory to reach 100% participation in form submission will receive $10,000 from the OCSA Foundation to fund master artists and other above-and-beyond arts experiences. For more information, please visit www.ocsarts.net/ParentGiving.
NON-RETURNING FAMILIES
Parents, if you know that your student (seniors excluded) will not be returning to OCSA for the 2021-2022 school year, we ask that you complete a short withdrawal form at www.ocsarts.net/NotReturning to release your student's spot and notify the necessary departments. If you have any questions, please contact Family Liaison Becky Parsons at becky.parsons@ocsarts.net or 714.560.0900 ext. 5535.
