DON’T MISS YOUR ANNUAL PARENT MEETING

As a reminder, our annual parent meetings continue next week on Monday, June 5, and Tuesday, June 6 at 5:30 and 7 p.m., depending on your child’s conservatory. Returning parents/guardians of students in grades 7-11 must attend one of these meetings once per school year as a part of the annual enrollment process. If you haven’t done so already, please click here to RSVP now.

At this meeting, school leadership and conservatory directors will provide an overview of schoolwide and conservatory-specific goals for 2023-2024, as well as share about the importance of supporting your child’s arts conservatory experience at OCSA. This year's meetings will also feature a brand-new participation challenge that could result in additional funds for your child's conservatory.

STUDENTS NOT RETURNING NEXT YEAR

We hope to see all of our wonderful students returning next year, but if you plan to disenroll from OCSA and enroll in another school for the 2023-2024 school year, please make sure you fill out the withdrawal form prior to Wednesday, June 7. If you have questions, please contact our Registrar, Laura Ely, at laura.ely@ocsarts.net or 714.560.0900 ext. 6174.

DEADLINE TO RETURN TEXTBOOKS/DEVICES

All textbooks and devices must be returned next week. Students can return items to the Dance, Music, and Science Center (DMS) Room 120 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day until the deadline of Wednesday, June 7. Thank you!

BUS ROUTE SURVEY

Parents/guardians: In previous years, OCSA has offered its families daily bus transportation to and from the OCSA campus from the Santa Ana Metrolink Station, Bonita Canyon in Newport Beach, and Rush Park in Los Alamitos. These bus routes are funded by the participating families, and our ability to offer these transportation offerings, as well as the cost per rider, is determined by the number of families who sign up. If you are interested in utilizing any of the bus routes to and from OCSA for the 2023-2024 school year, please complete this transportation survey by Wednesday, June 7. If you have questions regarding transportation services, please send an email to transportation@ocsarts.net.

ENTERTAINMENT WORK PERMITS

During the summer months when the school is closed, Entertainment Work Permit (EWP) applications can be submitted to the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement with the student’s most current report card/transcript in place of the school’s signature and stamp. EWP processing will begin again at OCSA in August when staff is back on campus. Thank you.

2023-2024 MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Attention rising juniors: Applications are now available for the 2023-2024 Professional Mentorship Program. OCSA’s Professional Mentorship Program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to gain exposure to real-world career paths, receive hands-on experience, and make a connection with a business professional during their junior year.

Please click here to apply before the deadline on Friday, June 9. Upon completion of the application, all efforts will be made to match students with an OCSA Board member, alumni, current or alumni parent, or other professional from the OCSA community. Mentors will share their experiences, help explore career options, and give advice about college and/or professional development after high school. The program gives students an opportunity to “test-drive” a career of interest, receive valuable information about the realities associated with a chosen profession, and benefit from the guidance of a caring adult outside the family and school structure.

Please note that OCSA will work diligently to pair as many students as possible with a professional mentor, however, there is no guarantee that all students will be matched.
