Please be aware that the gradebook visibility section in the Aeries portal closes today, Friday, June 4. The Aeries gradebook will reopen on Friday, June 25 at noon when final semester report cards become available. Please note that OCSA does not mail home report cards.
Tune in tomorrow, Saturday, June 5, at 7 p.m. for our Virtual Season Finale! Join us as we celebrate the conclusion of another memorable school year with an evening of spectacular presentations by the talented students of all 16 arts conservatories.
The viewing page is now live at www.ocsarts.net/VirtualSeasonFinale. Be sure to share the link with family and friends. Let's create a virtual full house to honor our incredible student artists!
Next week is Finals Week! Second semester final exams are scheduled for Monday, June 7 and Tuesday, June 8. Both dates will be virtual days, during which all students will join their classes remotely from home, regardless of learning academy. Hybrid/in-person students in Cohort A will not report to campus on those two days.
The last day of school for the 2020-2021 school year will be Tuesday, June 8. We hope you have all had a great year and that you will enjoy your summer break to the fullest!
Textbook and Chromebook device drop-off continues next week. If they haven’t yet done so, all students must return their items in DMS 120 on one of the following days. Thank you for your cooperation!

  • Tuesday, June 8: 12-5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 9: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Special note to students taking AP/Honors classes next school year: You will need to check out required textbooks for summer assignments while you are on campus returning your current textbooks. Please check for summer assignment information listed at www.ocsarts.net/APHonors. Textbooks are needed to complete summer assignments for AP Government, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP U.S. History, and AP Environmental Science.
Attention all OCSA families! You are invited to virtually cheer on our seniors during the 2021 graduation ceremony by watching the livestream broadcast, beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 10. Senior parents/guardians: Your senior should have received the Class of 2021 Graduation Information packet, along with their graduation tickets (wristbands), on Friday, May 21. The information is also available here. It is very important that you review this information with your senior prior to graduation day. Be sure to use the QR code found in the packet to view the map of the Honda Center so that you know where to park and be seated for the graduation ceremony, where your senior will check in, and where your senior will pick up their diploma.

If your student should need a work permit during summer break, please email ocsa.administration@ocsarts.net. Please provide the details of the employment in the body of the email, including the name and address of the establishment, phone number, and supervisor’s name.
For Entertainment Work Permits (EWP), please follow the instructions found on the California Department of Industrial Relations website. The parent-signed EWP application must be accompanied by both the student’s semester report card and their attendance record, which can be downloaded from the Aeries portal. OCSA does not provide authorization letters for EWP applications during the summer.
Attention returning parents/guardians: Before you head off for summer break, it is critically important that you submit your mandatory Voluntary Contribution Agreement (VCA) form for the 2021-2022 school year. The conservatory directors use pledges from their parents to build conservatory budgets and programming for next school year. If you have not yet done so, please click here to submit your VCA today.
Don’t forget! The first conservatory to reach 100% participation in form submission will receive $10,000 from the OCSA Foundation to fund master artists and other above-and-beyond arts experiences. For more information, please visit www.ocsarts.net/ParentGiving.
Parents, if your student is currently in grades 7-11 and you know that they will not be returning to OCSA for the 2021-2022 school year, we ask that you complete a short withdrawal form at www.ocsarts.net/NotReturning to release your student's spot and notify the necessary departments. If you have any questions, please contact Family Liaison Becky Parsons at becky.parsons@ocsarts.net or 714.560.0900 ext. 5535.
As we finish the unusual school year that was 2020-2021, Digital Dreamscape has created a special highlight reel honoring OCSA students through performance clips and special director shout-outs. Stay tuned next Friday, June 11 for the release of this exciting digital supplement to the printed Dreamscape Yearbook!
OCSA's first-ever TEDx event will premiere Wednesday, June 9 from 7-9 p.m. TEDxOrangeCountySchooloftheArts will feature 13 presenters who were selected from a pool of 70 applicants. Representing all six OCSA grade levels and seven different conservatories, these student speakers will eloquently elaborate on a variety of issues, including the importance of empathy, the mélange of identity, and the power of dogs versus the puzzle of cats. Tune in to YouTube on Wednesday to watch the TEDx presentations and the talent, poise, and intelligence of the impressive OCSA speakers.

Attention rising juniors: Applications are now available for the 2021-2022 Professional Mentorship Program and are due by Friday, June 18. OCSA’s Professional Mentorship Program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to gain exposure to real-world career paths, receive hands-on experience, and make a connection with a business professional during their junior year.
Please click here to apply! Upon completion of the application, all efforts will be made to match students with an OCSA Board member, alumni, current or alumni parent, or other professional from the OCSA community. Mentors will share their experiences, help explore career options, and give advice about college and/or professional development after high school. The program gives students an opportunity to “test-drive” a career of interest, receive valuable information about the realities associated with a chosen profession, and benefit from the guidance of a caring adult outside the family and school structure.
Please note that OCSA will work diligently to pair as many students as possible with a professional mentor, however, there is no guarantee that all students will be matched.
As previously announced, OCSA intends to open for full-day, in-person instruction for all students beginning on the first day of the fall semester, Wednesday, August 11. We are excited to resume a more normal teaching and learning schedule for next school year and will continue to review recommendations for school operations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) as they are made available.

The following 2021-2022 school calendar documents are now available to view:
