Congrats on another incredible school year! We want to wish you all a nice and relaxing summer break. OCSA will remain open daily during the summer to support our school community. The Humanities Tower will be open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for parents and students who may need to drop off paperwork or have specific questions answered. Please keep in mind that we will have limited staff available and that school counselors will not return to work until Tuesday, August 1. Lastly, the school will be closed on Monday, June 19 and Tuesday, July 4 for the federal holidays.

We are so proud of our seniors! You are a passionate and talented group of young adults, and we cannot wait to see where you go from here.

We wanted to share some wonderful news! Orange County School of the Arts was recently awarded the Exemplary School designation by the Arts Schools Network (ASN). This five-year designation is awarded in recognition of a commitment to excellence based on a strategic evaluation that dives into the school’s purpose, operations, and educational programs. In addition, the Arts & Enterprise Conservatory was honored with the ASN Arts Innovation Award! This award was designed to recognize a program that has committed to taking innovative artistic risks to make a positive impact in the lives of students and the community. Thank you to our OCSA students, faculty, and staff who have made these outstanding recognitions possible!

Returning Parents/Guardians Who Attended an Annual Parent Meeting:

Thank you for joining us at an Annual Parent Meeting! We hope you enjoyed hearing from school leadership and your student’s conservatory director about next school year’s vision. If you have not already done so, please remember to submit your Conservatory Funding Agreement (CFA) form for the 2023-2024 school year by Monday, June 12. Returning Parents/Guardians Who DID NOT Attend an Annual Parent Meeting:

You must attend the make-up meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at 5 p.m. in Michael F. Harrah Symphony Hall. Please submit your RSVP to confirm your attendance as soon as possible. As a reminder, at least one parent/guardian from each family must attend this mandatory meeting once per school year as a part of the annual enrollment process. See you at the meeting!

During the summer months, Entertainment Work Permit (EWP) applications can be submitted to the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement with the student’s most current report card/transcript in place of the school’s signature and school stamp. EWP processing will begin again at OCSA in August when staff is back on campus. Thank you.

Attention rising juniors: Applications are closing today, Friday, June 9, for the 2023-2024 Professional Mentorship Program. Click here to submit your application now! 

This program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to gain exposure to real-world career paths, receive hands-on experience, and make a connection with a business professional during their junior year. Upon completion of the application, all efforts will be made to match students with an OCSA Board member, alumni, current or alumni parent, or other professional from the OCSA community. Mentors will share their experiences, help explore career options, and give advice about college and/or professional development after high school. The program gives students an opportunity to “test-drive” a career of interest, receive valuable information about the realities associated with a chosen profession, and benefit from the guidance of a caring adult outside the family and school structure.

Please note that OCSA will work diligently to pair as many students as possible with a professional mentor; however, there is no guarantee that all students will be matched.

Time is running out to enroll your student in a unique arts adventure this summer! Register now for CSArts Academy, which offers a variety of arts training opportunities for students ages 8-15 on the OCSA campus. Please see below for the list of upcoming registration deadlines, and be sure to check out our catalog of courses for details on all the available classes. We hope to see you in the classroom!
