MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Please be reminded that the school will be closed this coming Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. We hope you enjoy the long weekend and look forward to seeing you back in class on Tuesday.

Season Finale 2025 is TOMORROW, Saturday, May 24, at 7 p.m.! Please join us as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our dedicated and talented students and faculty at this unforgettable end-of-the-year showcase. If you have not yet gotten your tickets, there is still a limited quantity available. Please click here to purchase!

MEDICATION PICK-UP

If your student has medication in the Health Office at OCSA, a parent/guardian must pick it up between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3. If your student’s medication is not picked up by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, it will be disposed of. No exceptions will be made.

For pick-up, please keep the following in mind:

  • A parent/guardian must sign to pick up the student’s medication. Medication will not be released to any student, regardless of age.

  • Medication drop-off and paperwork for the 2025-2026 school year will take place at a later date. Paperwork or medication for next year will NOT be accepted at this time.

For any questions about your student’s medication on campus, please contact the Health Office at health.office@ocsarts.net. Thank you for your cooperation.

ENTERTAINMENT WORK PERMIT

Please plan ahead! If your student needs an Entertainment Work Permit (EWP) for the summer, they must submit an EWP application for approval no later than Monday, June 2 to The Dhanidina Family Student Services Office in the Humanities Tower, Room 101. EWPs that have already been submitted should be picked up at your earliest convenience. During the summer months when school is closed, EWP applications with your student’s current report card will be accepted by the Labor Standards Department in place of the school’s signature and school stamp. Check the Labor Standards Department website for more details on summer submissions. EWP processing will begin again at OCSA in August when staff is back on campus.

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION IS NEXT WEEK

Yearbook distribution will begin on Wednesday, May 28 and continue through Friday, May 30 from 12:10-12:55 p.m. in the Dance, Music, and Science Center (DMS) drop-off lane. Students should present a photo ID (school ID, driver's license, or Aeries record on their phone) in order to pick up their yearbook. We ask that students please exhibit patience. There are over 1,500 yearbooks to distribute, so it is likely the line will be long; however, it will move quickly, and students are guaranteed a copy if they have pre-purchased one.

If you are unsure whether you have pre-purchased a yearbook, please check your MySchoolBucks order history. For seniors, yearbooks were included as part of senior packages. If you still need to purchase your yearbook, 115 copies are available for purchase through MySchoolBucks, but don't wait! We will sell out!

Important reminder: Yearbooks should not be out during class unless the teacher has expressly stated it's ok to do so. Students will still have time to sign yearbooks before school, during Lunch, after school, and at other non-instructional times. Yearbooks that are distracting from instruction will be handled in the same way as any other disruption.

If there are any questions not answered above, please contact Yearbook Adviser Courtney Harper at courtney.harper@ocsarts.net.

MOCK TRIAL INTEREST MEETING

Students: Are you interested in auditioning for the 2025-2026 Mock Trial team? There will be an interest meeting on Tuesday, May 27 at Lunch in the Humanities Tower, Room 110, in order for students to learn more about the program, time commitment, expectations, and how to prepare for auditions. There will be another meeting in the fall before the auditions.

MODEL UN INTEREST MEETING

Interested in global issues, debate, or building your leadership skills? Middle and high school students can find out how to join next year’s Model United Nations (MUN) Team at the interest meeting on Wednesday, May 28 at Lunch in the Dance, Music, and Science Center (DMS), Room 114. Come learn what MUN is all about and how to apply for next year’s team.

OCSA JUMPSTART STUDENT FACILITATORS

OCSA Jumpstart is a dynamic, three-day program – from Wednesday, August 6 through Friday, August 8 – where incoming students will be introduced to OCSA’s unique school culture and discover how to navigate the next phase of their education with confidence. Participants will have the chance to familiarize themselves with the OCSA campus, foster new relationships, and, of course, have FUN! But first, we need current OCSA student leaders to welcome these newly admitted students to campus as Jumpstart Student Facilitators!

If you are interested in volunteering to be a Jumpstart Student Facilitator, please click here to apply before Wednesday, May 28. Student Facilitators must be going into 8-12th grade next school year and must be able to attend both mandatory training sessions on Friday, August 1 and Monday, August 4 and all OCSA Jumpstart dates.

PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Attention rising juniors: Applications are now available for the 2025-2026 Professional Mentorship Program. OCSA’s Professional Mentorship Program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to gain exposure to real-world career paths, receive hands-on experience, and make a connection with a business professional during their junior year.

Please click here to apply before the deadline on Friday, June 13. Upon completion of the application, all efforts will be made to match students with an OCSA Board member, alumni, current or alumni parent, or other professional from the OCSA community. Mentors will share their experiences, help explore career options, and give advice about college and/or professional development after high school. The program gives students an opportunity to “test-drive” a career of interest, receive valuable information about the realities associated with a chosen profession, and benefit from the guidance of a caring adult outside the family and school structure.

Please note that OCSA will work diligently to pair as many students as possible with a professional mentor; however, there is no guarantee that all students will be matched. Students will be notified about matches and next steps in the fall.

OCSAFEST

OCSAFEST is just a week away! Presented by the Arts & Enterprise Conservatory, OCSAFEST showcases the talents of nearly 200 OCSA students and local artists and features live music, dancing, an artisan market, and fun activities for the whole community. Come make waves with us in The Callero Family Foundation Plaza (DMS Quad) on Friday, May 30 at 2:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, May 31 at 1 p.m. – now featuring a classic car show!
