INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN FOR 2021-2022
As we prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, we would like to announce that OCSA intends to open for full-day, in-person instruction for all students beginning on the first day of the fall semester, Wednesday, August 11. We are excited to resume a more normal teaching and learning schedule for next school year and will continue to review recommendations for school operations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) as they are made available. To view the bell schedule for the 2021-2022 school year, please click here.
FACE COVERINGS REQUIRED
As a reminder, while the CDC has updated their mask guidance to indicate that vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear masks in most environments, the CDC and the CDPH have not relaxed their face covering requirements for schools.

Please remember that all students, staff, and campus visitors are required to wear cloth face coverings while on campus and at school events.
SCHEDULE FOR NEXT WEEK
We hope you are already enjoying your long weekend! There is no school today in light of a Non Student/Teacher Day. Additionally, due to the Memorial Day holiday, the school will be closed on Monday, May 31.

To make up for Monday’s instructional time, Friday, June 4 will be a synchronous Blue Day (Blocks 1-3) with hybrid/in-person students in Cohort A attending classes on campus. Hybrid/in-person students in Cohort B and all virtual students will attend classes on Friday via remote instruction.

In summary, the schedule for next week is as follows:
  • Monday, May 31 - School Closed
  • Tuesday, June 1 - Gold Day, Cohort A on Campus
  • Wednesday, June 2 - Blue Day, Cohort B on Campus
  • Thursday, June 3 - Gold Day, Cohort B on Campus
  • Friday, June 4 - Blue Day, Cohort A on Campus
FINALS WEEK
Second semester final exams are scheduled for Monday, June 7 and Tuesday, June 8. Please keep in mind that both dates will be virtual days, during which all students will join their classes remotely from home, regardless of learning academy. Hybrid/in-person students in Cohort A will not report to campus on those two days. The last day of school for the 2020-2021 school year will be Tuesday, June 8.

2021-2022 MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Attention rising juniors: Applications are now available for the 2021-2022 Professional Mentorship Program and are due by Friday, June 18. OCSA’s Professional Mentorship Program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to gain exposure to real-world career paths, receive hands-on experience, and make a connection with a business professional during their junior year.

Please click here to apply! Upon completion of the application, all efforts will be made to match students with an OCSA Board member, alumni, current or alumni parent, or other professional from the OCSA community. Mentors will share their experiences, help explore career options, and give advice about college and/or professional development after high school. The program gives students an opportunity to “test-drive” a career of interest, receive valuable information about the realities associated with a chosen profession, and benefit from the guidance of a caring adult outside the family and school structure.

Please note that OCSA will work diligently to pair as many students as possible with a professional mentor, however, there is no guarantee that all students will be matched.
