SPIRIT WEEK NEXT WEEK

Let’s get into the Halloween and OCSA spirit by dressing up all next week! Spirit Week is Monday, October 9 Friday, October 13! Get creative and come dressed up in your best gear for each theme of the day noted below.


Monday, October 9: Barbie Monday

You can simply wear pink from head to toe, wear all your Barbie gear, or come as your favorite character from the movie! 


Tuesday, October 10: Camper vs. Glamper Tuesday

Do you like to camp or glamp?! Have some fun with this one and come in your hiking boots or Uggs.


Wednesday, October 11: Rolled Out of Bed Wednesday

Easiest day of the week: PAJAMA DAY!


Thursday, October 12: Dress like a Celeb Thursday

Get ready for the paparazzi and come to school dressed as your favorite celebrity! 


Friday, October 13: Class Colors Day

Show off your class spirit for class color day! As a reminder, 7th grade is yellow, 8th grade is orange, 9th grade is red, 10th grade is magenta, 11th grade is green, and 12th grade is blue

COLLEGE FAIR REGISTRATION

OCSA College Fair 2023 is only a few weeks away on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20. This event is designed for high school students ONLY. The College Night evening sessions are intended and designed for high school students and their parents/guardians.


Registration will open next week and upperclassmen will have priority as space is limited. Registration will open on the following dates by grade level:


  • Seniors and parents/guardians: Monday, October 9
  • Juniors and parents/guardians: Wednesday, October 11
  • Freshmen/sophomores and parents/guardians: Friday, October 13


Please be aware that registration emails will be sent directly to you on the dates listed above. We encourage students to register as soon as possible since registration will close on Monday, October 16! Students who do not register will be unable to attend on-campus sessions.

COME OUT FOR DODGEBALL

We need your help TODAY, Friday, October 6, to cheer on OCSA's greatest athletic spectacle, Dodgeball! Join us from 2:30-5 p.m. in The Callero Family Foundation Plaza (DMS Quad) as 18 OCSA student dodgeball teams battle it out to win the 2023 dodgeball championship title! The first game will start promptly at 3 p.m. This is a free event for all to attend. Refreshments will be available for you to purchase.

APPLY FOR TEDXOCSA

Today, Friday, October 6, is the last day to apply as a speaker for the second annual TEDxOCSA, hosted by the Creative Writing Conservatory. If you are passionate about a specific topic and want to hone your presentation skills, don’t miss this opportunity! TEDxOCSA is open to all grades and conservatories and will be recorded live at the Margaret A. Webb Theatre. Click here to apply today and email [email protected] should you have any questions.

DON'T MISS FESTIV-FALL

Attention middle school students: Ticket sales for Festiv-Fall will close this coming Monday, October 9 at 11:59 p.m. Festiv-Fall is OCSA’s middle school dance and will be held on Friday, October 13 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the Container Lot! Don’t miss your opportunity to attend this fall-themed event, full of yummy snacks, fun activities, a photo booth, music, and friends! Purchase your ticket TODAY on MySchoolBucks for $15. This dance is reserved for OCSA students in grades 7 and 8 only. No older or outside guests are allowed, and an OCSA student ID will be required for entry. LAST CHANCE FOR HOMECOMING TICKETS

High school students: If you have not done so already, NOW is time to purchase your tickets for Homecoming 2023: The City That Never Sleeps, held at Hanger 21 Executive in Fullerton next Saturday, October 14 from 7-11 p.m. Ticket sales close this coming Monday, October 9 at 11:59 p.m. Purchase today on MySchoolBucks for $68. CONSERVATORY TRANSFER APPLICATIONS

Current students wishing to apply to a new conservatory for the 2024-2025 school year must complete a Conservatory Transfer Application, which will be available in mid-October. Students will also need to participate in the Conservatory Placement Activity for their desired new conservatory. In-person Conservatory Placement Activities will take place in January. HOLIDAY EVERGREENS

The El-Erian Family Acting Conservatory is once again holding their annual Holiday Evergreens fundraising drive. This year the Ballet Folklórico, Creative Writing, Film & Television, Integrated Arts, Musical Theatre, and Popular Music Conservatories, as well as The Garn Family Jazz Studies Program, are also participating in this fundraiser! Purchasing these beautiful evergreens will add festive seasonal flair to any home and they make wonderful gifts for teachers, friends, family, and business contacts, all the while supporting our deserving student artists. October Senior Deadlines

Fall is upon us and as the holiday season ramps up we want to remind seniors of the following, fast-approaching deadlines for October:


  • Diploma Name/Address Verification: Friday, October 27, click here to submit.
  • Recommendation Letter/Transcript Requests: Monday, October 30 is the deadline for December 1 college application deadlines and Thursday, November 9 for January 1 deadlines.

HEALTH & SAFETY REMINDERS

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community remain at the forefront of our efforts. OCSA will continue to follow all quarantine guidance set by the California Department of Public Health. At this time, mask wearing on the OCSA campus is optional. Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 and/or are exhibiting symptoms should remain at home and fill out the COVID-19 Reporting Form.
