OCT 20, 2018
11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • October is the month of the Rosary. The Rosary is a traditional Catholic prayer which meditates on the important events in the life of Jesus. I will give each student a Rosary and we will pray every day for peace in our families and in the world, protection against violent storms, and for courage and hope for the sick.

  • Book Fair – October 1 – 3, 2018.

  • October is also Respect Life month and Red Ribbon Week (Say No to Drugs). On Monday, October 16, we will teach the mandatory Archdiocesan curriculum on child abuse during religion classes. This age-appropriate program teaches our students how to keep themselves safe from people who may want to hurt them physically, sexually, emotionally. After the lesson, your child will bring home a paper for you to sign. This needs to be returned to the teacher. If you do not wish your child to attend this class, please notify Sr. Margaret. Make-up classes will be scheduled as needed.

  • October 4th is the Feast of St. Francis, patron of animals. On Thursday, October 4, Fr. Jim will bless pets at 2:30 P.M. under the pine trees. Bring your pets! Students may bring a picture of the pet. If it is raining, we will cancel.

  • First quarter report cards – The first quarter ends on Friday, October 12, 2018. For grades 1 – 8, your child’s grades are posted on Rediker’s PlusPortal. Hard copies of our report cards will go home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, and we will have Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 18th, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM. Please know you are always welcome to set up an appointment with your child’s teacher through the office.

  • Saturday, October 20, is the date for our annual Fall Fun Fest (11:00 AM – 2 PM). There will be games, a haunted house, food, fun.

  • Please know I sincerely appreciate all that you do for our students and our school. Good luck to all our soccer and volleyball coaches, players, and parents! Your investment of time and talent in our children is a most precious gift. Reminder – All volunteers, coaches, chaperones must receive the Archdiocesan Training in Child Protection and must undergo a background check. There is a class in St. Lawrence Church, 370 S. Section Street, Fairhope, on October 9, 2018, at 7:00 P.M.

  • Please continue to send in Box Tops, register receipts from Greers, cell phones, electronic devices and labels for education. Check all grocery items. The funds we receive really help. Thanks to Evelyn Lowery for coordinating these projects.

  • St. Patrick School receives Federal Funds.
  • Title I for at-risk students
  • Title II for Teacher Professional Development
  • Title III for ESL (English as a second language)
