November 3rd

On November 3rd, our community partner, Anthem, will host a hybrid workshop for our families. This workshop will discuss a general overview of Medi-Cal, how to sign up, disenroll, 10 essential benefits, and Anthem Blue Cross Benefits. It will be provided in both English and Spanish.

On Thursday, October 27th, some amazing volunteers from the National Charity League put together an incredible Halloween event for our members - with costumes, goodies, and more!

Thank you Carol Izad!

Carol contributed her time and talent by donating several pieces of her artwork to our silent auction for the Denim & Diamonds 30th Anniversary Celebration. A collection of her work features florals, fruits and vegetables and abstracts. Carol also took the time to create a literature review of numerous books for our Club members to read. Thank you Carol for your generosity of time and talent!

Health & Wellness

Every Wednesday, members participate in a “Wellness Wednesday” activity to promote wellness in all aspects of life. Members of Blythe are pictured showing off their creations made for a social-emotional activity!

Education

Thanks to Aerojet Rocketdyne, Blythe Elementary members had the amazing opportunity to learn from NASA astronaut Zena Cardman! Members had an opportunity to ask questions on what it takes to be an astronaut and the special training needed before an astronaut can go into space. Thank you to Aerojet Rocketdyne!

UCLA vs USC

Students participated in a future ready activity where they researched fun facts about USC and UCLA. In the spirit of their rivalry, the students raced to get 20 facts before the other team.

Sports & Recreation

Member's are pictured here during Triple Play. Our members got active while learning the fundamentals of soccer.

The Arts

We hosted our Lights On event. Members and new students joined to learn more about our program, financial aid, and had the opportunity to decorate pumpkins for Halloween!

Free Hotspots for Qualifying Youth

Through Project 10 Million, T Mobile is providing free hotspots with five years of free service to youth who qualify for free and reduced price lunch.

The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) is looking to enroll new families in the San Fernando Valley area

The CCRC can help you pay for childcare for all hours of the days, nights, weekends, or even just a few hours a week. Visit ccrcca.org/apply to view the requirements and to get your application started.

GoPass Program

The GoPass Program is available to students at participating K-12 schools and community colleges, with a focus on helping students ride transit without the worry of paying fare. With a registered GoPass TAP card, students attending participating schools can ride Metro and other participating systems to and from school, and for trips after school and on weekends.
