Ontario to support local teams competing for Carbon XPRIZE
Ontario is taking a major step in the fight against climate change by making up to $2.5 million available to Ontario-based teams competing in the NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE, a global challenge to address climate change by incentivizing innovators to convert carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from power plants and industrial facilities into valuable everyday products. The funding is part of Ontario Centres of Excellence's (OCE's) $74-million TargetGHG cleantech innovation initiative.

The deadline for submitting EOIs to the Cybersecurity R&D Challenge has been extended to Tuesday, September 27, 2016. The $3-million program aims to develop innovative new technologies, products and services in cybersecurity.

Landmine Boys, a start-up from CLA-supported St. Paul's GreenHouse at University of Waterloo, wants to end landmine casualties around the world with its technology. OCE-managed CLAs fund post-secondary institutions to create a culture of entrepreneurship among students and youth in their regions.
