ODAC Cancels 2020 Spring Seasons and Championships
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), via a unanimous vote from its Presidents Council and Board of Directors, has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 conference athletic campaign amid the growing impact of the COVID-19 outbreak and its continued effect on decisions made on-campus as well as throughout the region. The cancellation includes all regular-season league play as well as ODAC postseason and championship competition.

Virginia Wesleyan Athletics Cancels 2020 Spring Seasons
Virginia Wesleyan University announced on Wednesday, March 18, the transition to online courses for the remainder of the 2020 Spring semester due to the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) , Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , the  Virginia Department of Health , and  Sentara Healthcare . As a result of this decision, all VWU Athletic events for the remainder of the semester have been cancelled to keep our student-athletes, coaches, and staff safe from harms way. 

While we are disappointed that this is how the turn of events has played out, we understand that it is in the best interest of the Virginia Wesleyan community.  The decision was made with our students and the community's health in the forefront of our minds.  
Virginia Wesleyan Athletics recognizes and appreciates all of the hard work and dedication that our coaches and student-athletes have put forth to each of their respective sports.  We need to continue to support each other through these difficult and unprecedented times.
We pray that life as we knew it will return to normal in the near future and we look forward to the return of our student-athletes this fall.
