September Edition: Who is ready for some good news? • This month the SBA opened the application portal for an increase in the COVID EIDL. Previously capped at $500,000, now businesses can apply for up to $2M in funding. The loans have a 30 year amortization with a 24 month deferment option and can be used to pay, or even prepay, commercial debt. Loan amounts are based on 2019 revenues and cost of goods sold. Another Data Center Makes Chicago a "Hot Spot" "The amount of new data-center capacity under construction in Chicago is up significantly—rising 42%—to about 18.5 megawatts in the first half of this year from the same period in 2021...The net increase in total data center capacity leased in the first half of last year in Chicago nearly tripled to 20.1 megawatts," according to Crain's Chicago Business. There is no sign of this industry growth slowing, as plans are in place for a $1 billion data center in Elk Grove Village. Read more

Healthcare Continues "Retail" Type Approach with Hub & Spoke Locations "ASCs (Ambulatory Surgery Centers) will experience patient growth of 25% by 2029, especially as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services eliminates their inpatient-only procedures list, and expands the number of procedures which may be provided in an ambulatory (outside of hospital) setting," according to an article in Daily Herald Business Ledger.
