Top Economic Development News

We couldn't be more excited with our partnership with the staff at the Jacob France Institute at the University of Baltimore. The research they conducted and the report they unveiled at the end of April provides a comprehensive plan for our county to move economic development forward. The Growth Opportunity (GO) Strategy revealed:
  • Frederick County's millennial population growth rate is higher than Maryland and the Washington DC metro area.
  • Frederick County is growing more jobs at a faster rate than Maryland and both Baltimore & the DC Metro areas.
  • Frederick County employment is forecasted to grow 32% from 2015 to 2045.
Please read the report to see what recommendations we have to seize these opportunities for the best economic growth for the county. We welcome your thoughts as we move forward with the recommendations in our GO Strategy.

This month, I am very proud of our team for winning the statewide economic development award for our work in craft beverage growth and also to our assistant director Heather Gramm for winning the 2018 Rising Star award. We have a dynamic team who does great work for Frederick County every day.
