Good news for Cincinnati residents! The electric aggregation program rate is dropping to $0.1044/kWh for the next 6 months — down from the current $0.1073/kWh.  

All eligible residents will soon receive notices from Dynegy, the current electric supplier for the aggregation program. Residents are automatically opted-in, so no action is required if you want to participate. If you’d ever like to opt-out of this aggregation program rate, you can do so online at dynegy.com/optout, by phone at 1-855-326-0520, or by returning the Opt Out Reply Form included in your mailed notice. Residents can opt in or out of the aggregation program at any time, for no fee. From there, you can use the Energy Choice Ohio Apples to Apples site to choose a different supplier, just be sure to do your homework first!  

To permanently opt out of future aggregation programs, contact the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) at 800-686-7826 or visit puco.ohio.gov/do-not-aggregate. 

Despite negotiating for a lower rate for aggregation customers, energy prices still remain high across all providers. Data centers, international conflicts, and an overall increase in energy demand are all contributing to higher prices. Congratulations to the Building Performance Graduates! And calling contractors- now's your chance!

Over the past several months, Cincinnati residents earned a variety of BPI credentials, preparing them for growing opportunities in building performance and energy efficiency- careers that make our homes more efficient and affordable. Thanks to Green Umbrella and Home Energy Services Group for collaborating with the City on this impactful program. 

While this pilot cohort has concluded, funding has been secured to support two additional cohorts focused on Building Science Principles and Building Analyst Technician training.

Don’t Toss It - Fix It! Join the 2026 Repair Fair Saturday, May 9th 10-2PM at the Downtown Library.

Repairing items saves money, reduces waste, and conserves the resources and energy needed to make new products. It also builds skills and confidence by helping you better understand and care for the things you own.

Bring your item and work one-on-one with a volunteer “fixer” to diagnose and attempt a repair. You’ll be part of the process and learn tips and techniques along the way. Repairs are free, but not guaranteed.  

Bring items such as jewelry, clothing, small electronics, and appliances. 

Please do NOT bring: microwaves, large appliances, wood items, gas powered items, hazardous material, watches, TVs, or sharp items.
