GCP Seeds of Change Grant Program awards funds to 14 organizations in latest grant round.

An estimated 5,900 residents of all ages will engage for the coming year in restoring habitats, learning hands on about green jobs, building rainwater catchment systems, reducing food waste, planting gardens, training bike mechanics, and installing solar to increase community benefits.

As OES’ biggest effort in the Community Activation Focus Area, the GCP Seeds of Change Grant Program provides funding for community-initiated projects that align with the Green Cincinnati Plan's priorities with a distinct focus on relieving burdens and increasing benefits for those most affected by climate change.

Special thanks to our 10 evaluation committee members who thoughtfully reviewed and recommended these projects from a long, impressive list of submissions and to the City, the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and Duke Energy Foundation for co-funding this year’s Open Call cycle.

Stay tuned for stories of progress and impact throughout the coming year as we inch ever closer to our

 $1 million dollar goal!

Did you move to Cincinnati due to things like extreme weather, rising costs, or environmental concerns? We want to hear your story.

OES is collecting experiences from residents to better understand climate migration and how to support new and current residents and make Cincinnati a strong, welcoming place for everyone.

The survey takes about 5–10 minutes. You can also choose to take part in a follow-up interview. And learn more about Cincinnati’s climate migration efforts here.

Summer heat is here, refresh yourself on these tips for staying safe and sustainable.

West End Needs Survey opens for residents to offer insights on neighborhood needs, amplifying community voice and guiding future resilience work.

The survey gathers information about residents’ emergency needs, daily needs, demographics, and community concerns.

By the end of the summer, OES will publish a report that residents, organizations, and stakeholders can use as a resource. The report will help identify key needs, priorities, and opportunities to better support West End residents.

Thanks to Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses and West End Resilience Hub Advisory Committee for partnering in this work.

If you are a West End resident or have a connection to the West End, we encourage you to take the survey and share your perspective.

River Metals Recycling now hosts public recycling drop-off dumpsters in Camp Washington.

Public recycling dumpsters help reduce illegal dumping and make recycling more accessible, so recyclable materials stay out of the landfill. If you don’t have access to recycling at your home or just have an overflowing bin, be sure to check out the local public dropoff sites.

Any items that you would normally put in your curbside recycling bin can go into the public recycling dumpsters.

So gather up all those recyclables and drop them off to River Metals Recycling at 2815 Spring Grove Ave during business hours:

  • Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 4 PM
  • Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12 PM

Data centers have been the topic of many environmental policy conversations across Cincinnati and the state of Ohio.

The City of Cincinnati has taken action by setting temporary regulations for data centers that want to build or expand within City limits.

The initial regulation was set for 3 months and has been expanded for 9 months.
