One General Agency (OGA) is pleased to announce that it has acquired the renewal rights to the book of business previously owned by Acton, Inc. (Acton). In addition, Eric Acton will be joining the OGA staff.

One General Agency (OGA) is a Managing General Agency and Surplus Lines Broker that has been serving the specialty needs of independent insurance agents since 1951. OGA is a family-owned and operated company centered on strong relationships and trust. It provides markets for commercial transportation, property and casualty, garage, oil & gas, personal lines, professional lines and workers' compensation risks and represents top-rated admitted and non-admitted insurance carriers in Oklahoma and an expanding number of states.

Acton, Inc. also is a Managing General Agency and Surplus Lines Broker that has served Oklahoma independent insurance agents since its founding in 1972. Their area of expertise includes many of the same lines as OGA but has a concentration in larger, more complex accounts, especially in the lines of excess and umbrella, environmental, professional and excess workers compensation. Acton’s markets complement the admitted and non-admitted insurance carriers represented by OGA.

Jennifer Dotter, President & CEO of OGA remarked, “We are thrilled to enter into this arrangement with Eric and his team. The combined book of business will enable OGA to provide an even broader array of products as we position ourselves as a full-service wholesale broker and the preferred partner for our agents. We will now have access to a much broader range of standard lines and non-admitted carriers, and we can handle a wider variety of accounts. With Eric’s help, we look forward to the opportunity to work with all of our agents in entertaining new business opportunities and renewing the Acton accounts.”

Eric Acton, President of Acton, commented, “I am proud of the success my family and I have had in operating Acton, Inc. all these years, but I’m also thrilled to be joining the OGA team. This transaction will allow us to continue to provide exceptional service to our long-time agency relationships and friends. I was especially impressed with OGA’s culture and Jenny’s commitment to honesty and fairness in the way she conducts business.”

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
