July is Disability Pride Month! Its history goes back to 1990 when the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. That year, the city of Boston held the very first Disability Pride Day celebration. The first official Disability Pride Month occurred in July of 2015, marking the 25th anniversary of the ADA. Fulbright Application Deadline: August 27
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study, and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students. This competition is administered on campus by the International Institute. Enrolled students must apply through U-M and provide proof of a campus interview and endorsement as part of their application. Recent alumni (within the past 3 years) may also apply through U-M. Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellows Seeking Support
The U-M Wallace House Center for Journalists is welcoming a cohort of 19 Journalism Fellows. The Fellows are accomplished journalists, typically 10 years or more into their careers, who represent nine countries and a broad cross-section of the U.S. You can read more about the incoming Fellows here. Most of the Fellows are looking for academic-year home/apartment rentals, and many are also looking to rent a car or bike for 10 months. Brief Description: the International Center will be hiring a graduate student to fill the position of Student Services Assistant II (Peace Corps Prep Certificate Program Graduate Student Advisor, Job Reference #7979), which will start at the beginning of the Fall 2023 term. The person who assumes this position will work together with the GEEA Assistant Director to carry out the Peace Corps Prep certificate program at U-M.
