International Day of Peace (September 21)

The United Nations (UN) General Assembly established the International Day of Peace in 1981. This year's theme for the International Day of Peace is “End racism. Build peace.” It is in acknowledgement of the ways that racism is manifested and amplified in conflicts and of the fact that certain racial groups are disproportionately impacted by conflicts and crises. This year’s theme affirms that tackling racism and working to dismantle the structures that entrench it is crucial in order to build peaceful societies where all members feel that they can flourish.
