The 2026 Repetitive Strain Injury Webinar Series reached a milestone with more than 2,015 registrants! Created 27 years ago by OHCOW ergonomist Trevor Schell, it began as a small gathering of 20 people and is now recognized as the world’s largest international ergonomics-focused webinar series. OHCOW Occupational Hygienists Kevin Hedges and Krista Thompson have co-authored a research paper entitled "Evaluation of a Novel Risk Assessment Tool for Hazardous Chemicals in Academic Laboratories: An Exploratory Study." The paper, about health hazards in laboratory work due to chemical exposure, has been published in ACS Chemical Health and Safety Journal. Congratulations to Kevin and Krista!
The government of Ontario has created a Registry for people to learn about occupational exposure, and to submit their occupational exposures to harmful substances into the database. It is important to know when and where harmful exposures happen, and how to mitigate them. Check it out today!
