In the original OHLQ Insiders Bulletin below, the Division of Liquor Control stated Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit barrel release would go on sale when the participating Agencies open on Friday, Sept. 21.

Please note, Agencies will begin selling the product no later than 9:00 a.m. on Sept. 21, regardless of their posted opening time. Agencies are still permitted to begin sales earlier if the number of customers matches the number of bottles they have available.
What would National Bourbon Heritage Month be without another Ohio single barrel release?

This time, we're bringing you Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit. We chose these barrels, as well as the Russell's Reserve we released in June, alongside Master Distiller Eddie Russell during a visit to the distillery in February. This will be the only release of Kentucky Spirit in Ohio this year.

Eddie chose eight barrels from the Lawrenceburg K (third floor) and Camp Nelson A and F (floors 4-5) rickhouses just for Ohio. These bottles are among the last to be released in the iconic turkey feather bottle, and the handwritten label includes the rickhouse, floor and bottling date.

This release will be available for sale at eight Agencies across the state beginning Sept. 21. I suggest you get to these Agencies early; during our last release, bourbon aficionados were lined up as early as 5:00 a.m. to snag their bottle.

Additionally, we have received some inquiries from customers as to why Agencies started sales earlier than their posted open time on past releases. Agencies have been given the approval to begin sales early when the number of customers matches the number of bottles they have available. They are also permitted to limit the sale to one bottle per person.

You can read more about the program below, including in which Agencies these special bottles will be available. Feel free to share this with your friends and encourage them t o subscribe for future updates.

As always, please enjoy these products responsibly. As we head into the holiday season and its related celebrations, we here at the Division of Liquor Control want you to be safe.

Cheers!

About Kentucky Spirit
Kentucky Spirit is a 101 proof, single-barrel bourbon, with each barrel personally chosen by Master Distiller Jimmy Russell. Known for being fuller bodied, with rich vanilla flavors and a hint of sweetness, it’s the perfect bourbon to enjoy neat. A complex layering of almonds, honey, blackberries, and leather gives way to a long, dark and lingering finish.
