EMPOWERING BLACK OHIO. DRIVING EQUITABLE CHANGE.

An Open Letter to the Community

Black communities in Ohio deserve to be seen and valued. Too often our voices are left out of the data, ignored in policy debates, and dismissed when we demand change. That silence is not an accident. It is the result of systems that consistently undervalue Black leadership and underfund Black-led organizations.

This is why OLBCF exists. We are Ohio’s only statewide Black think tank. Our role is to document the realities of Black life in Ohio and to fight for policies that reflect our truth. The State of Black Ohio Report is central to that mission. It is the only report that brings together both data and lived experience to show how decisions made at the Statehouse affect Black families across the state.

Here is the gap: if OLBCF does not produce this report, no one will.

Here is why it matters: without it, Black Ohioans remain invisible when laws are written, and resources are distributed.

Here is what your gift does: it makes sure this report is researched, published, and delivered to decision makers who must be held accountable. It keeps OLBCF alive as the only organization dedicated to this statewide work.

Here is why we cannot wait: Ohio cannot afford another year of policies made without us at the table in this current political climate.

We are asking for your financial support. Every dollar makes a difference. Your giving ensures this report is completed and our work continues. We cannot do this without you. Please make a contribution today to keep OLBCF strong and ensure Black Ohio is seen, heard, and valued.
