Students gather in Family Groups to prepare Advent wreaths
Advent begins this Sunday.
Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

A huge THANK YOU as we dismissed at noon and look forward to this great Thanksgiving break! As you can see by the pictures at the top of our newsletter this week, our students are not only focused on preparations towards Advent, but also sharing in the joys of giving and receiving that make this time of year special. Thank you this past week for coordinating your families' $200 Auction Commitment for this year! The Arbow family and other Coug fans won out in last auction's "Raise the Flag" Apple Cup fun and were able to post the flag this morning on our school flagpole. Our auction committee has more notes below as we prepare for this largest school fundraising event coming in March!

In Thanksgiving news, we also had a nice response to the parish's Shoeboxes of Joy service activity (bring yours to Thanksgiving mass tomorrow or to this weekend Masses if you've filled a shoebox). Don't forget to spread the word that in the holiday rushes we have multiple ways to help others: after CyberMonday comes our OLG #GivingTuesday, and for food and donations comes LightupThe Night and the annual school collections for our St. Vincent dePaul assistance to families.. let's fill that Sleigh :)

As we move from through our holiday season, I pray for your family time together and hope you can join in all the greater community celebrations as well: Light-up-the Night, our Parish & School feast day celebrations, and all things special of Advent and Christmas in December. Again, a huge thanks you I encourage all of us to reflect on what we are thankful for and breathe new life into our commitments and our community.
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

In this time of Thankfulness...
We are thankful to our fantastic coaches for dedicating their time in guiding and nurturing our young athletes.

We are thankful for the encouragement and support of friends and families cheering on our Bulldogs on from the sidelines.

And a big thank you to our Athletes for their teamwork, enthusiasm, dedication and for being such wonderful representatives of OLG every time they take to the track, court or field.
Go Bulldogs!!

We have a variety of theme baskets filled with all kinds of goodies, which will be on display in the back of church. You can buy raffle tickets for specific baskets at $5 per ticket. The drawing will take place at our Feast Day Fiesta on December 11 and winners will be notified.

Green for Christmas
In the coming weeks we will be presented with many opportunities to buy gifts, decorations, food, and other items to help celebrate the season. As stewards of God’s creation, it is important for us to be thoughtful about what we buy. Suggestions include buying only “green” decorations (no plastic!), buy food that is locally and/or organically grown, buy experiences instead of things as gifts, donate to organizations that care for the environment in honor of a loved one, and look for fair-trade gifts which support communities in need. You can also check out the Care for Creation Ministry’s Advent Calendar for more ideas on how to celebrate the season!
Advent begins this Sunday. Hopefully you will be able to participate in some of our parish's celebrations of this season. We encourage
you to reach out and invite your neighbors, family, or friends to come and join us whether it is the celebration of our Feast Day, our Reconciliation Services, or our Christmas masses. It truly is a
time of great preparation and celebration! Schedule of events and resources
