Big Happenings/ Announcements:

  • This Friday: 50/50 raffle entries due; Silent Auction closes 10:00 pm
  • This Saturday: Main Auction Event!

Dear Families,

Happy Auction Week! Thank you to our incredible auction team for all the work you’ve done for the silent auction and live, night of! This is a great opportunity for EVERYONE in the whole community to participate and engage in the largest fundraiser event of the year. The Silent Auction closes tomorrow night at 10pm, and new items continue to be added! Thinking of the big ticket items (like Fund-a-Need (TECH!!) Or awesome trips to places like Cabo the night of! Consider going in on some things with another family or a group! Buy-a-Spots? There are so many! Like adult Dodgeball and beverages, or soccer camps for the kids! Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the kids and our community!

Speaking of--- a huge thank you to all who supported the “Auction Pre-Funk” at Westy on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Our total sales surpassed 3K and we got 15% of that-- $513 to be exact! How fantastic, and what a great way to show our support to our local small businesses and neighbors. Thank you!

In other wild and exciting news, our flagpole! Did anyone else have “Flagpole damaged by wind” on their BINGO card? I didn’t! Here’s the basic update as of right now. The flagpole is compromised and failing due to internal damage that led to external damage. After inspection by an engineer yesterday, it will need to be emergency patched and then taken down. The price and cost to do this is high and this is not a “let’s get a group of parents and volunteers over to help” situation. If you feel that you are able to professionally assist in the process of removing a 3-story flagpole, are licensed/ certified/ insured/ bonded and have access to a crane/ etc. please contact me directly. At this time, the road will remain closed as a safety precaution. While we recognize that it is not necessarily convenient to use alternative entrances, etc. the safety and lives of all are the primary focus, and not something we are willing to risk or compromise. Thank you for your grace and patience as we navigate this structural surprise. In the meantime, please do your best to be on time each day, and to call the office if you arrive early for something and need to be let in. Again-- though not ideal, this is what is best to keep everyone safe, when we do not have control over the wind and weather.

LASTLY: Ash Wednesday next week, March 5th and Mass is at 9am for the whole community. Please be aware of early arrivals in the parking lot. You are most welcome to attend Mass and we hope that you do. For those who are not Catholic, please keep an eye out for Lenten resources coming home next week.

Wishing you a happy Thursday in the sunshine and looking forward to seeing so many of you at the auction on Saturday night. Participate, bid, bid, bid! The fund-a- need is technology this year, so participate today and make your children’s lives a little more up to speed in the future!

With Gratitude,
