Dear OLG Family,
Spring has started to show its face around West Seattle. Our daffodils are blooming around campus, our tissue boxes are getting well used from the allergy sneezing, and our weather is doing the fun game of--- what will today be like?! In my neighborhood the bunnies are showing up more and more, and in my spare time, I also find myself checking out the new baby eaglet trio in Big Bear, Ca -- all such beautiful signs of new life! Anyone else noticing the joys of spring?
This time of year, as we lean into Lent and spring all at once, we are reminded that Jesus came so that we might have life, and it is also why he died; so that we could have new life with Him, and understand that the greatest gift of all, is love. In the challenges that come, and in the burdens that we carry, let us pause to remember that spring and Lent are both times to await the coming of new life. Jesus did not see His time in the desert as disparaging or dark, but rather a time when He realized what truly was set ahead of him when He was to return. The season of spring helps us walk the desert along with Jesus, feeling hopeful for what is to come, and grateful that the darkest time of our year is behind us-- with only light ahead. It is the same for our faith.

Ladies and Gentlemen…..the moment you’ve all been waiting for…..We’re excited to announce the totals from this year’s OLG All-Stars Auction! (drum roll please….)
This year we are proud to announce that we were able to raise over $139,200!!! $32,075.00 of that is for the annual Fund-A-Need supporting technological enhancements throughout the school, for both students and faculty!

School Fund Drive – Help Us Reach 100% Participation!
A huge thank you to our parents who have already contributed to our School Fund Drive! Your generosity has helped us reach halfway to our goal, thanks to the support of our large donors and alumni.
As we move into Spring and the final months of the school year, we are striving for 100% participation from all current families. Every gift—no matter the size—makes a meaningful impact on our students and school community.
In last week’s FCE, you will find a School Fund Drive (SFD) card. Please take a moment to fill it out and return it in the provided envelope. If it’s easier for your family, you can choose to make multiple monthly payments or a one-time gift—whatever works best for you.

Day of Service (April 5th) is an annual event where volunteers (you, your kids, classmates, etc.) help at a variety of local non-profits. There are many projects to choose from designed for all ages, abilities and schedules, including our drop-in campus projects and at-home projects.

For all families, students, children and community members be joyful and full of hope!
For all the victims of the California wildfires, and for the students, faculty, staff and alumni at Corpus Christi Catholic School in Pacific Palisades who lost their school and parish, and have had to find new places to learn and grow.
For all who have recently lost loved ones, and for those who continue to feel the loss of loved ones long-passed. May God grant peace and healing to those who remain, and eternal rest in Heaven for those who have been sent home to the Lord. May perpetual light shine upon them.

Update
Thank you to everyone who submitted an application for our Parish Family Advisory Council. Following prayerful discernment, the Parish Family Leadership Team (PFLT) will be extending an invitation to applicants who will participate in an evening of discernment as we continue the process in forming the Council. The PFLT will then make the final decision by the end of March. Please continue to keep these efforts in prayer, asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help discern those who are called to help lead our Parish Family in creating the “One Parish Plan”. As always, we are interested in your thoughts on communications and initiatives that will help us in this effort. You can submit suggestions, comments, and questions about Partners by going to either Holy Rosary’s or OLG’s websites or filling out a comment card in church vestibules.
