Big Happenings/ Announcements:

Hello all,
Thank you for coming last night to share in the gift of music (and dance and games) with our talented kids. One of my favorite things to do is to look back at the parents, when kids are performing, and watch the faces of the audience. The pride, the joy, the love and the happiness you each share, as you silently celebrate your kids, and other people’s children, really is a sight to see. How beautiful it is that in our community, we celebrate all of our students, and allow them to shine brightly as a group, and as individuals. To me, it is an honor to be in the audience, and a privilege to see them bring such joy to the world. Thank you to Ms. Sager and to Miss McKamey for making this night so special for the kids!
Tomorrow, we continue the joy with Field Day, a cherished tradition, where our 7th graders take the lead in moving us through different activities, as family groups. Our 8th graders get to share this day, one last time. The afternoon though, is what it’s all about-- where the 8th graders get to challenge the teachers and staff in volleyball (and this year, free throw). Who will win?! Time will tell! Thank you, PO, for your help with getting all of the lunches prepared for us! Ms. Mackenzie and 7th graders, thank you for leading the charge for Field Day too! It’s Pirate Theme, so students can wear their most awesome pirate outfits OR can wear (school appropriate) free dress and tennis shoes.
Next week we celebrate Cultural Week. Click on the link above to read more about the week, about Pentecost, and about Cultural Day in the parish. With Heritage and Cultural dress on Thursday, we will celebrate the great and beautiful diversity alive in our school and in our global family. Keep an eye out for info from your child’s homeroom teacher, as all classes are doing different things throughout the week.
Lastly, see below about the many events happening next weekend. It's the 175th Anniversary of the Archdiocese next weekend, and we also will be celebrating Miss McKamey, along with a community meal hosted by our 7th graders, focusing on refugees and immigrants (last week's newsletter). We hope to see you there!

School Fund Drive
100% participation from our school families
Thank you to all you amazing current families for contributing to the School Fund Drive.
It is through the generous donations from our current families, alumni, parishioners and community members that say "YES" to the fund, that help us bridge the gap between what you pay for tuition (regardless if you receive a financial scholarship or not).
Please know we are still not at our goal, we have $12K more to raise. If you have not already donated please consider making a donation in any amount! Thank you.

Prayers continue for Fr. Phuong and Fr. Tim as our parish leaders, and for our shared parish family. And for Fr. Kevin and Fr. Jack.
For our community members whose family members who are fighting cancer and other ailments.
For all families, students, children and community members be joyful and full of hope!
For all the victims of the California wildfires, and for the students, faculty, staff and alumni at Corpus Christi Catholic School in Pacific Palisades who lost their school and parish, and have had to find new places to learn and grow.
For all who have recently lost loved ones, and for those who continue to feel the loss of loved ones long-passed. May God grant peace and healing to those who remain, and eternal rest in Heaven for those who have been sent home to the Lord. May perpetual light shine upon them.
Prayers for Pope Leo XIV.
In gratitude for our OLG community and the love that you share.

The formation of our Parish Family Advisory Council is almost complete! The Parish Leadership Team has extended an invitation to 12 individuals, with equal representation of both parishes, to join the Parish Family Advisory Council. These individuals will meet on June 3rd to learn more and discern their final acceptance. Following that meeting we will announce the names of the final members and begin introducing them to the West Seattle Catholic Community.
Please hold the Council in your prayers as they embark on this key role in the development of the One Parish Plan and bringing our communities closer to becoming one canonical parish.

Participation in the ACA is one of the criteria to receive the gift of In-parish tuition
If you have not made your donation, please prayerfully consider your gift to the 2025 Annual Catholic Appeal. In addition to the ministries that support those in need, the Annual Catholic Appeal also directly supports the staff of West Seattle Catholic Community and Fr. Phuong and Fr. Tim.
The Archdiocese of Seattle provides centralized services, all to save on costs for parishes and to alleviate administrative burdens. These services include human resources, communications, property and construction, liturgy guidance, support from the Office of Catholic Schools and more! With your support, we can simplify workloads, improve communication, and elevate evangelization efforts across Western Washington.
Thank you to the many of you who have already made your gift.
There are a variety of ways to give:
-
Make a gift online by visiting www.archseattle.org/GiveACA
-
Scan the QR code on the pew envelope, bulletin, or posters.
-
Mail in the pew/pledge envelope or drop it in the collection basket.
As a reminder, your donation directly supports our parish staff and pastors.
