Principal's Letter

Dear Families,

Tomorrow is Jog-a-Thon, the first big fundraiser of the year! Are you ready for the “Running of the Bulldogs”? We are! Dress for the weather, bring a full, labeled water bottle.  More Details here and below.

Tomorrow is a noon dismissal too!

For those new to OLG, on noon dismissals, we do not have lunch in K-8, but most will eat a snack.

EDC: If your child (K-8) is going to EDC please make sure that they have lunch. Remember that there is no ELC aftercare tomorrow.

Regarding EDC, we are still actively searching for a director and support staff, and are “busting at the seams” with students. A great problem to have, but we also need the staffing to maek it beneficial and safe for the kids. Remember that we need you to sign up using the EDC sign-up Genius. Beginning next week, we will temporarily not be allowing drop-ins. If you do not sign up, or it is full, we ask that you pick up your child on time, or make alternate pick-up plans. Yesterday, we had nearly 50 students; significantly more than the sign up. Thanks for understanding, and helping us to keep your kids safe, engaged and cared for after school!

Next week, we have a guest speaker joining us! Jodee Blanco, award winning author and expert in bullying will be here, at OLG for an evening with parents/ guardians and families. Please RSVP! We hope to see you! Invite your friends too. It is sure to be a wonderful learning opportunity for all. Jodee will have been here with the kids during the day, and the staff prior to the community evening. It’s a fantastic way to have parent/ family ed on topics very real in our world, such as bullying. We will explore what bullying is, what it isn’t and how we do not let our own experiences of the past impact the present. We hope you can make it!

Have a wonderful rest of your week, and get those pledges in for Jog-a-thon!

With Gratitude,

Ms. Lauren Hobbs
