Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Here we go! Our Jog-A-Thon update (prior to our run) = more than $13,000 has come in through our greater giving portal... Just like we say to our students..."keep it going" and help us reach our goal of $25,000 by the end of the day (9/30)! Our Seattle Mariners are almost in the playoffs... can we get to our goal too today?

Along with special "theme dress" today for our students, please send those "good vibes" invitations along to your friends and family. We'll keep tallying things up over the weekend and early next week to announce our progress on school-wide goal, plus class and individual winners soon! Checks and donations can also come in directly through our website or our school office. Our students will be working hard to do their part! .. help them see their laps count!

This weekend we also move into October... that means our Sunday 11am Mass is a celebration of all students and educators, so if you come wearing your school uniform, you get a special FreeDress on Monday! Also this next week is everyone Spirit Wear on Friday for our first Friday of the month! Read more on our tradition of "first friday" spirit wear in teacher emails and next weeks newsletter.

Today, let's breathe deep and run with good vibes!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

School Happenings
Do you know a Veteran?
Next month, on Nov 10th at 9am, we will celebrate Veterans Day with a school-wide assembly led by the 4th grade in the gym. We love having parents and Veterans come to help us celebrate this special day with our school. If your student has a relative that is a Veteran and is interested in coming, we would like to honor our Veterans during our celebration. Please email Ms. Fuchs by 4pm Nov 4 with the following information:
  • Veteran’s name
  • Association to OLG
  • A brief history of service for a quick introduction during the assembly
After School Tutoring
After School Tutoring begins on Wednesday, Oct 12th 2:15-3:00 pm. Families, you will receive a letter from your teacher if your student could use this extra support.  Please note we have limited space, so we prioritize students with reading and math support needs. Please return permission forms promptly to your child's teacher.

Halloween Carnival
Saturday, October 29th at 4 pm

It's here! It's here! Help us make this year's OLG Halloween Carnival the best party of the year (for our kids, of course) by signing up for a shift (or two)!
We are excited about the return of the Trunk-or-Treat! We are asking a family or group from each grade to decorate a car (bonus points for a vintage ride), fill the trunk with candy (provided by the Parent Org), and park in a festive row for little Trick-or-Treaters to enjoy! It is a competition, and the winner gets a $50 gift card! Please contact your room parent to volunteer. Thank you to Kindergarten and 8th grade families for signing up first!

Looking for other ways to help? Donate a cake for the cake walk and get one hour of volunteer credit. No need to sign up, just bring a cake to the gym Oct 29th between noon and 3 pm.
Save the Date - Saturday November 5th - the CYO Italian Dinner is back! In-Person!
Interested in supporting CYO and becoming a sponsor? We would love to hear from you - please do reach out to Aileen Angello.

A reminder that one parent or guardian must attend the Parent Like a Champion workshop prior to registering a child athlete with CYO. Classes are over zoom and there are plenty of opportunities to take part. The next workshop is at 6.30pm on Oct 20thRegistration and further information

Update on OLG's Outreach Ministry
Since the departure of Jennifer Ibach, we had been working on hiring a new Outreach Minister. However, as with many other parishes and the Archdiocese, we were not able to find a qualified candidate to fill the position. We plan to repost the position in January. In the meantime, we have been blessed to have Kelley MacKenzie step in to help with the coordination of the Fair Trade Sale, the Advent Giving Tree and the Day of Service. In addition, the rest of our outreach ministries are being competently led by parishioners, with the support of parish staff.

Dedication and Blessing
The dedication and blessing of our New Blessed Sacrament Space and Tabernacle will take place the weekend of October 8-9 during the Masses. We are truly blessed by all who have made this project possible, including the donors, the Steering Committee, and the contractors, electricians and others who created this sacred space in our church.
