REMEMBERING OUR LOVED ONES WHO HAVE DIED ON THE FEAST OF ALL SOULS

During the month of November, beginning with the Feast of All Souls, we remember all those who have died, including parishioners from this past year. You are invited to attend a special Mass on Saturday, November 2nd, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe church as we pray in a special way for those who have gone before us and for us who mourn their loss. A small reception will be held afterwards. Please invite families and friends to join us.

GLOBAL SYNOD UPDATE

The draft of the Final Document was distributed to members on October 21 to all participants in the Synod.

Speaking during the daily briefing in the Vatican’s Press Office, Dr Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication and President of the Synod’s Commission for Information, said: "We have reached a crucial moment".  The draft, it was reiterated, "is not just the product of the discussions in the assembly but draws on a rich process and incorporates all the work done over the years during the various phases of the synodal journey." For now, the draft is not being released to the public to allow for greater freedom of the delegates to engage in conversations with each other. The most authoritative source on happenings at the Synod is the official website, www.Synod.va . Let us to keep this effort, and the Synod delegates, in our prayers. Come, Holy Spirit!

Santa Teresita is a housing complex here in West Seattle, consisting of 26 permanent housing units for homeless families. Residents come from twelve different countries and seventy-five percent of the families are single moms, with sixty-five children ranging from toddlers to teenagers.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Santa Teresita have been in community for over 10 years since 2013 through Advent Giving Tree donations, Day of Service projects, summer barbecues and Feast Day Celebrations.

On June 2, 2023, OLG led by the Life, Justice and Peace Commission , created a multipurpose room for the children at Santa Teresita. That same year, OLG School 7th grade teacher, Mr. Santos, used the space for recreational activities between his 7th grade class and the youths at Santa Teresita as they enjoy each other’s company through art and games.

On November 10th, OLG is honored to host a baby shower for 3 expectant mothers at Santa Teresita. Please help us shower these mothers with much needed items for their new babies. See flyer for the link to the Amazon wish list.
