A LETTER FROM FR. RYAN ABOUT FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP
The US Bishops write, “In the Catholic tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation… As Catholics, we should be guided more by our moral convictions than by our attachment to any political party or interest group…In today’s environment, Catholics may feel politically disenfranchised, sensing that no party and few candidates fully share our comprehensive commitment to human life and dignity. This should not discourage us. On the contrary, it makes our obligation to act all the more urgent!” To assist you in your discernment, we are sharing with you a letter written by Fr. Mike Ryan, Pastor at St. James Cathedral, that speaks to challenges we face as Catholics in this year’s election.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word begins this Sunday at the
11 AM Mass | |
The delegates for the second session of the Synod Assembly are gathering in Rome. As they did last year, they will begin their time together with a retreat, led by Father Timothy Radcliffe, OP, before the synodal listening and reflection gets underway. Once again, our own Archbishop Etienne is a delegate to the Synod. He shared some reflections on this moment and what it means for the Church—and our local Church—HERE. The most authoritative source on happenings at the Synod is the official website, www.Synod.va . Let us to keep this effort, and the Synod delegates, in our prayers. Come, Holy Spirit!

UPDATE ON FR. KEVIN

He is very thankful for all your prayers. But he still has a ways to go in his recovery so he continues to ask you for your prayers.
