IMPORTANT NEWS
Fall Stewardship of Treasure Appeal
Is Happening Now!
Last weekend Fr. Kevin offered his reflection on the importance of our outward expression of what our hearts believe and what we embrace in regards to our faith. Stewardship of Treasure is the tangible sacrifice that shows our faith matters and that we are giving back to God’s community. We are asking everyone to prayerfully reflect on how we are called to sustain our parish and the ministries that support the mission of Jesus Christ.

We ask that all our parishioners partake of this expression and return their commitment card as soon as possible. If you haven’t had an opportunity to respond please return your pledge card in the mail or drop it off at the parish office. If you prefer, you can make your pledge online at https://olgseattle.org/stewardship-pledge. If you are unable to give, please pledge to pray for the success of our campaign. Just write “PRAYER” on your pledge card and turn it in.
Thank you to those who have responded already!
LITURGY
THANKSGIVING MASS
Thursday, November 24th at 10:00 am. Please bring donated food for our St. Vincent de Paul. Also, you are invited to bring any item for your special dinner to be blessed by Fr. Kevin and enjoyed later that day.
CELEBRATING THE ADVENT & CHRISTMAS SEASON
Advent is less than two weeks away. Hopefully you will be able to participate in some of our parish's celebrations of this season. We encourage you to reach out and invite your neighbors, family, or friends to come and join us whether it is the celebration of our Feast Day, our Reconciliation Services, or our Christmas masses. It truly is a time of great preparation and celebration! CLICK HERE for a schedule of events and resources.
 ADULT CONFIRMATION PREPARATION PROGRAM
begins on Tuesday, January 3rd from 6:30-7:45 pm by Zoom with one Saturday morning retreat. The Confirmation celebration will take place on Sunday, February 12th at the 11:00 Mass. The sacrament of Confirmation completes our Catholic initiation and makes it possible for us to participate
as godparents, sponsors, and other liturgical roles in our Church. Contact Helen, [email protected] , 206-935-0358
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A EUCHARISTIC MINISTER?
Ordinary ministers of communion are the bishop, priest and deacon, however, due to the pastoral needs of providing communion to all the faithful, the Church authorizes lay ministers to distribute communion at Mass and to persons who are sick and/or homebound. Eucharistic Ministers must also be fully initiated into the Church, having celebrated baptism, confirmation and First Communion. In addition, beginning in January we will return to offering communion by the cup, so we need more EM’s to serve at Mass. Training will be offered in the coming weeks. Please contact Helen Oesterle, [email protected] for more information.
ADORATION AND PRAYER
Parishioners are invited to come to the church and pray in our new Blessed Sacrament Chapel during the week. Just come by the Parish Office to get a key or call the Office and we can arrange to meet you there and let you in. We wish we could keep the church unlocked but we can’t due to security.

OTHER UPDATES
GOOD NEWS!!
The Washington State Catholic Conference released a statement that calls for policy makers to develop and implement a holistic plan to care for creation and the common good in the Lower Snake River region. The decline of salmon in the Lower Snake River points to the need to care for our common home. The bishops acknowledge that the diminishing salmon population in the Lower Snake River and the loss of their original habitat pose a threat to the spiritual lifeways of the Original People of the Northwest. The bishops state that the Original Peoples of Washington state should be “principal dialogue partners” in forming a comprehensive plan for the Lower Snake River region. This plan should serve the common good, care for creation, and consider the treaties and rights of the Original Peoples of Washington state and those who live and work in the Lower Snake River region. READ HERE for more information.
