Each day of Catholic Schools Week we will celebrate something about our community. It may look different since we are not all together...but there is SO much to CELEBRATE!

UPCOMING SACRAMENTAL CELEBRATIONS IN OUR PARISH
CONFIRMATION CELEBRATION WITH BISHOP MUEGGENBORG will take place on Saturday, February 6th at the 5:30 pm Mass. This mass will not be open to the public but will be live-streamed. We have 20 youth who have been preparing for this sacrament for many months.
FIRST RECONCILIATION CELEBRATION will also take place on Saturday, February 6th
We have 25 children preparing for this special sacrament of mercy.
Please keep our young people in your prayers!

Their tremendous work in 2020!
Undergoing one of the most challenging years in our Parish history, your support meant so much to moving forward in our St Vincent de Paul mission. In 2020 our Conference delivered an overall total assistance value of $245,000 to over 3,000 neighbors in need. These 2020 numbers represent a staggering increase over the $175,000 delivered and 1,900 neighbors helped in 2019. Drilling deeper into the 2020 numbers, your kind generosity enabled the following support to be given:
-
Rent assistance - 381 families
- Move-in deposits - 19 families
- Mortgage payments - 4 families
- Utility payments - 116 families
- Assistance to many in the form of:
-Donated food, hygiene, furniture items, bus tickets, Safeway cards and Thrift Store vouchers for clothing and other living essentials
-Payment of medical, dental, vehicle and other miscellaneous expenses
-Referrals to COVID relief program and other public resources, including arrangement of case manager support for those unable to navigate the system
-Support to our immigrant population during these hard times
On behalf of our Vincentians and the many served within our community, we thank you for making a difference, and for being there for us as we continue to navigate these times together. Your prayerful and generous support enabled our St. Vincent de Paul Conference to serve as a beacon of hope to the marginalized and the poor in our midst.

Tuesday evenings, February 9th - March 30th, 6:30-7:45 PM by Zoom!
On the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, released the third encyclical letter of his papacy. The encyclical articulates a call for all human persons to recognize and live out our common fraternity. It starts with a consideration of what is holding humanity back from the development of universal fraternity and moves to an expression of hope that peace and unity will be achieved through dialogue among peoples of faith. ASH WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE FOR FEBUARY 17TH, 2021 |
The Archbishop has given parishes permission to distribute ashes this year, but with modifications due to COVID-19. Ashes will be sprinkled over a person’s head in silence. Below is the schedule for our parish’s services. Please note that registration is required for the public celebrations.

2021 DAY OF SERVICE:

The 2021 Day of Service is Saturday, April 24th. In its 8th year, the Day of Service provides an opportunity for parishioners and friends of all ages to serve at a variety of sites on the same day. Many sites provide essential services to neighbors in need and have found ways to continue serving safely. Look for more information soon and signups starting in February!

MARDI GRAS SCAVENGER HUNT FOR FAMILIES
All 7 th-12 th graders and their families are invited to a Mardi Gras Family Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, February 13th at 1pm. Families will meet in person, socially-distanced, to receive their packet of clues. The hunt will take you around the greater West Seattle area, then we’ll all gather to award prizes. CONGRATULATIONS & GOD’S BLESSINGS to Lori McConnell who recently celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation and to Grayson Michael Silvernagel who was baptized last Sunday. May they continue to grow in God’s grace in the years to come.
AS INTEREST IN PUBLIC MASS INCREASES, we are looking for more volunteers to assist in ushering and registration check-in. Volunteers are essential for us to provide the safest possible environment for our public masses.
