ALTAR LINEN MINISTRY
Volunteers are needed to assist with laundering the linens we use for masses. You sign up to clean the laundry twice for a month or two during the year, and it is done in your own home on your own schedule. This is a great way to also earn school volunteer hours. Contact Helen, 206-935-0358

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP ORGANIZE CHURCH PEWS
This job entails restocking the pews along with putting the Breaking Bread and Spirit & Songbooks back into their proper order. Since we are only using every other pew right now, it is half the work!!
It would be great to have two to three “teams” who can rotate each week. Great ministry for a family. Contact Helen, or 206-935-0358

Pope Francis invites all the baptized around the world to journey together in a global listening process called, “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission.” This global consultation process is a major historical event and will provide guidance for the Church to discern “the signs of the times and interpret them in the light of the Gospel” (GS,4). At the same time, Archbishop Etienne’s local mission-focused Pastoral Planning efforts align well with Pope Francis’s synodal process. Parishes are encouraged to move forward in pastoral planning by first participating in the global synodal efforts from November 2021 through early March 2022. Our parish will actively participate throughout the entire process as we, too, begin forming a new mission statement and 5-year plan for OLG. More to come…

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING AFGHAN FAMILIES
Thank you to all who were able to contribute to our Welcome Kit Drive for refugees arriving from Afghanistan. The donations were passed on to Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, one of the official resettlement agencies in WA. They thanked us saying, “Each time they use these items they are reminded that God knows and loves them – It’s a great gift!” The drive was organized by OLG Immigrant Ministry, a group that strives to provide direct service to immigrants in need in our community as well as advocate for just policies. If you are interested in joining us in these efforts, contact Jennifer Our next meeting is Wednesday, November 10th at 6:30 pm in the basement of the Pastoral Center.

People of faith from around the world are organizing a massive prayer effort, calling upon the Holy Spirit to inspire the participants to do all they can to protect all of God’s creation. One way that you can participate in this effort is to send a prayer boat to COP26. Your prayer boats will join with thousands of others in Glasgow and help us make sure decision-makers cannot ignore our calls for action. TURKEY DRIVE:
HELP A FAMILY IN NEED
OLG Immigrant Ministry has been hard at work trying to procure turkeys for Thanksgiving for the new Latino Civic Alliance Center in Burien. Thanks to a very generous donation from Leschi Market, we can provide 100 free turkeys to these families in need in our area! We still need 50 turkeys to meet the need. If you would like to contribute to the cause, we will be collecting donations through Sunday, November 21st. Please consider giving $25 to help purchase a turkey and some additional fixings. Amazingly, we have a generous donor who will match donations dollar for dollar! To donate, drop off cash or a check (made out to OLG with “turkeys” in the memo) at Mass or the Pastoral Center. You can also give online (use the “turkey donation” section on the Donate page)
