HONORING MARY IN THE MONTH OF MAY

"In the month of May, as we prepare to celebrate mothers for their dedication and importance to our families, we remember Mary, the Mother of God and the greatest saint, in a special way. In fact, May is Mary’s month. Catholics honor Mary every day of the year through prayer. We remember the many ways God blessed Mary. We read about Mary in Scripture. But during the month of May Mary is specially honored by devotions around the world."
FR KEVIN IS DOING WELL!
The surgery went well. He is recovering. Fr Kevin would like to thank everyone for all the prayers!
CONGRATULATIONS

Joe, Marlo, and Isabel Laubach who received the honor to crown our Blessed Mother Mary statue during the May 2nd live-streamed Mass.
Thank you!

CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES RICE BOWL THANK YOU!

A big thanks to all who participated in the Rice Bowl program this year! As a community we raised over $5800! Thanks to your kindness we have touched the lives of the people served by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the official international humanitarian assistance program of the Catholic Church. Seventy-five percent of donations goes to CRS’s work in 100+ countries while twenty-five percent stays in Western Washington to help fund local hunger-alleviation efforts (OLG received grants for both the Peace Garden and St. Vincent de Paul).
SVDP'S MESSAGE

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to help 22 families
in our community catch up on rent/mortgage payments and
9 families pay off their winter utility bills last month.

One neighbor shared with us that had been struggling with substance use addiction for the last few years. His children had entered foster care and could not be returned to his care unless he accessed the resources and services the state required of him to be deemed a safe parent. After going through treatment and living in a halfway house, he recently moved out into his own apartment.

He reached out to St. Vincent de Paul for help with acquiring furniture for his new apartment. He needed to have a bed for his daughter before she could live with him. Our volunteer was able to help by providing a twin bed, dresser, dining table and chairs, kitchenware, food, and household goods. He shared back with us that because of our support, his young daughter was approved to return home to him! We were so happy to help our neighbor on his path towards reunification with his family.

CARING FOR CREATION

Spring is the best time to plant a garden. Consider making your garden a sanctuary for songbirds, hummingbirds, butterflies, bees and other wildlife using native plants. Native plants provide the food, shelter, and nesting habitat favored by our local wildlife. CLICK HERE for ideas.
BLESSINGS TO EACH OF YOU!
