IMPORTANT DATES
HIGH SCHOOL MOVIE NIGHT

Do you miss going to the movies? All high school youth are invited to join us for a movie night on Friday, January 28 at 6:30 pm in the Walmesley Center. We’ll do our best to recreate the movie theater experience in a safe way with the movie showing on our large screen and all your favorite candies and popcorn. There’s plenty of room to safely distance, the air is filtered, and everyone will be required to wear masks. Bring a beanbag, chair, or blanket and enjoy a fun evening with us. All are welcome so feel free to invite friends. RSVP to Jennifer by Monday, January 24th. We’ll send you the link to vote on which movie we watch.
YOUNG ADULT SERVICE DAY

All Young Adults are invited to help serve at the Welcome Table in White Center on Sat, Jan 29th from 10:45 am-2 pm  The Welcome Table serves lunch to neighbors in need in White Center every Saturday at The Body of Christ Church (1320 SW 102nd St). In addition to the meal, food and supplies are handed out. Volunteers will help set up, hand out supplies, visit with guests, and clean up. The meal takes place outside so dress warmly and wear a mask. Space is limited. RSVP to Jennifer All parishioners can support this effort by dropping off donations to the Pastoral Center by 1/27. Needed items include non-perishable food (powdered coffee creamer, rice, shelf-stable milk, tuna, mac n cheese, coffee, etc.), hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, tp, men’s clothing, sturdy shoes, new adult underwear, toothpaste, deodorant, laundry and dishwasher pods, and cleaning supplies.
WALKING WITH HOLY FAMILIES: SAVE ASYLUM

Join local Catholics and friends on Saturday, January 29th as we stand in solidarity with Holy Families seeking asylum. We will pray, reflect, hear stories, and take action to end Title 42. Gathering at 3 pm on the steps of St. James Cathedral, we will peacefully walk to the Federal Plaza in downtown Seattle and hold a vigil until 5 pm at the federal government’s doorstep, impelling them to restore access to asylum. Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Seattle, St. James Cathedral, Agape Service Project, St. Joseph Parish, Kino Border Initiative, the Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center, and OLG! To learn more about Title 42, visit HERE!

THE 21-23 SYNOD PROCESS IS COMING TO OLG IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS!

The Synod is a process of journeying together by listening, dialoguing, praying, discerning, and making decisions together for the purpose of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It will help us to listen more intentionally to the Holy Spirit’s movement in our own lives, within our own community and throughout the world. There will be opportunities for everyone, including those on the margins of our parish, to participate in a wide variety of formats—in person and by Zoom. Go to our parish website to learn more about the Synod and keep updated on events here at OLG.
WE WELCOME YOU TO OLG!
“A parish with open arms and caring hearts”

Susan & Charles Ring, Francesca Agnello & Ron Oldfield, Fred Bauer & Ana Margarita Rivero
Our amazing St. Vincent de Paul volunteers continued adapting during the pandemic by providing virtual home visits and answering 1,016 requests for support. They expanded their role to offer not only immediate financial support but also help neighbors navigate other services and applications for funding during these uniquely hard times. By connecting neighbors to other agencies and grant programs, our Vincentians have been able to efficiently leverage our parish’s funding to fill the gaps.

Thank you to our Vincentians and our generous parishioners for being the hands and feet of Christ in our community. READ MORE...
