Mass Schedule After Labor Day

The Sunday, 8:30 a.m. Mass will be open to the public beginning September  12th. We are aware that the Delta variant is complicating our return to normal, but our hope is by adding an additional mass we can provide more social distancing for those who want to attend mass in person. Livestreaming will continue at Sunday's 8:30 a.m. Mass for those who are not yet able to attend mass in person.

PRAYER FOR RAIN

As the West continues to experience severe drought in many parts of the region, which is leading to depleted water supplies, water restrictions, forest fires and more hardships, the Metropolitan Archbishops from Los Angeles to Anchorage are asking everyone to prayerfully implore the Lord to send us rain.

If possible, post the prayer in your homes as a reminder to seek this much-needed resource from the LORD. Let us renew our faith and exercise our belief that nothing is impossible for God.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP US WITH FUNERALS

One of the Works of Mercy is burying the dead. At OLG, we take very seriously this holy task by supporting families in celebrating the lives of their loved ones. Volunteers are needed for the following:
  • Camera Operator (it is much easier than you think)
  • Minister to assist Fr. Kevin
  • Funeral reception volunteers

Contact Helen, if you are interested.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO OPERATE CAMERAS FOR DAILY MASSES

We will continue live-streaming our daily masses but need more volunteers to help operate the camera. It is easier than you think and you can “shadow” the operation as long as needed until you feel comfortable to go solo! Contact Helen

IMPORTANT TO SHARE
HEALTHY PLANET, HEALTHY PEOPLE PETITION

Our common home and common family are suffering. The climate emergency is causing rising seas, a warmer planet, and more extreme weather. It is devastating the lives of our poorest sisters and brothers, and biologists estimate that we’re driving species to extinction at a rate of 100 to 1,000 times their usual rate. “We have no such right” (Laudato Si, P33).

During this Season of Creation (Sept. 1-Oct. 4), we have an unprecedented opportunity, one petition aimed at two United Nations conferences. The Our Lady of Guadalupe/Holy Rosary Care for Creation ministry urges you to join Catholics worldwide in following the lead of Pope Francis in acting out our faith.

At the UN Biodiversity Conference in October, world leaders can set meaningful targets to protect creation. In November, at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference, countries will announce their plans to meet the goals of the Paris Climate Accord.

As Catholics, we must lift up the voices of the most vulnerable and advocate on their behalf. The time to act is now -- to learn more and to sign the petition ahead of these two important meetings, visit HERE!
SUPPORT HAITI

As you likely know, Haiti was recently hit by a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake that has killed nearly 2000 people and injured nearly 10,000 more. Adding to the devastation, a tropical storm passed over the island nation this week, making aid efforts even more difficult. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) has been serving in Haiti for many years and is on the ground working with partners and affected communities to identify the most urgent needs. Please consider donating to our parish collection to help CRS provide essential relief like clean water, sanitation, shelter, and emergency supplies. You can donate at Mass this weekend (make checks out to “OLG” with “Haiti” in the memo) or online. Thank you!
