HONORING MARY IN THE MONTH OF MAY

"In the month of May, as we prepare to celebrate mothers for their dedication and importance to our families, we remember Mary, the Mother of God and the greatest saint, in a special way. In fact, May is Mary’s month. Catholics honor Mary every day of the year through prayer. We remember the many ways God blessed Mary. We read about Mary in Scripture. But during the month of May Mary is specially honored by devotions around the world."

Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church joined parishes from the South Seattle Deanery last night at St. James Cathedral, Seattle to mark the one-year anniversary of the murder of George Floyd and to commit to working for racial justice. Here is our parish commitment:

“The community of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church commits to recognizing and reckoning with the history of racism in our country through ongoing education and the sharing of our human stories. We seek to take responsibility for our role in that history and we commit to supporting our parishioners in this journey. We commit to ongoing action through prayer and advocacy to help heal wounds, to call human hearts to conversion, and to work to change the systems and institutions which shape racism. “
OLG COMMUNITY
CONGRATULATIONS AND GOD’S BLESSINGS  to Abel Thomas Lemus III & James Maddox Lemus who were recently baptized, and to Michael Alan Zosel & Sussan Njawu Waingeh who were received into full communion with the Catholic Church. Please continue to keep them and their families in our prayers.

REST IN PEACE Gloria Langen, one of our founding parishioners recently passed away. Please keep her family in your prayers. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

CARING FOR CREATION Spring is the best time to plant a vegetable garden. Consider planting extra so you can donate fresh produce to the West Seattle Food Bank. Also, intersperse some native plants to help attract pollinators.

OLG PHOTO GALLERY still needs your photos. We are moving our pew photos to the church vestibule to create a photo gallery so that we can get reacquainted with each other as we are slowly returning to mass and we don’t want to leave anyone out. If you haven’t done so already, please email a photo of your household (4-legged creatures are welcome) to HELEN
BLESSINGS TO EACH OF YOU!
