CELEBRATING MARY DURING THE MONTH OF MAY There are many different images of Mary in our Church, many of which celebrate the cultural and ethnic customs of the people. This Sunday at the 11:00 am Mass we will have a family assist in the crowning of Mary. In addition, you are invited to bring your image to share with our community and place it on the table set up in the northwest corner of the church (near the Reconciliation Chapel). And if possible, you are encouraged to provide a short description of your image and why it is special to you.
LITURGY COMMISSION IS SEEKING NEW MEMBERS Do you love liturgy and want to become more involved? Then we need you! The Commission’s mission statement is: It is an advisory body with whom the Pastor collaborates in order to enhance the worship of the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by promoting full, active, conscious, and fruitful participation in the liturgy. We foster the liturgical prayer life of the community, remembering to honor our parish culture and traditions and embrace our diversity. For more information and/or an application, contact Helen, at [email protected], 206-935-0358.
SEASON OF LENT
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES RICE BOWL: "HAPPY EASTER" SEASON!

Our CRS Rice Bowl journey has ended, but our prayers, fasting, and almsgiving continue as we seek a closer relationship with God and our global family. Let us hold in our hearts our sisters and brothers in Guatemala, Bangladesh, and Rwanda and commit to sharing our Easter joy with those in our local community and around the world. If you haven’t already done so, remember to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl at the school, Pastoral Center, or in the Sunday Mass collection. Please convert coins to cash or checks (made out to “OLG” with “Rice Bowl” in the memo). Our counters thank you! You can also give online on our new Rice Bowl Community Giving Page.

INTERSECTIONS OF MERCY: CATHOLICS ADVOCATING FOR HOUSING JUSTICE AND HOMELESS SERVICES

Are you concerned about the increase in homelessness in our area? Join other Catholics from South Seattle Deanery parishes for a day of advocacy on Saturday, May 14th from 9:30 am-12 pm at St. James Cathedral Hall (803 Terry Avenue).  Learn about Catholic social teaching on housing and homelessness and how we can raise our voices to advocate. Hear about the state of housing and homelessness from Marc Dones, CEO of the King County Regional Homeless Authority, and City Councilmembers Lisa Herbold and Andrew Lewis, who sit on the KCRHA Governing Committee. See how Catholic parishes and agencies are supporting the efforts in our region. Engage in civil dialogue to learn from one another and find ways to work together to bring housing justice to all. No RSVP is required. Park in the O’Dea High School lot or take public transit. Questions?
