CARE FOR CREATION MINISTRY
Our parish, in partnership with Holy Rosary, has an active group committed to Pope Francis’ call to care for our “common home” through prayer, advocacy, and education for not only our parishes but for the wider community. The pandemic has had a significant negative impact on efforts to address climate change, and its implications are even more serious and life-threatening now. But we can make a difference and we invite you to join us in our efforts. The group meets on the second Monday of each month by Zoom at 6:30 pm. New members are always welcome. Currently we are making plans to celebrate Earth Day in April. Contact

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR EARTH DAY 2021?”
April 22nd marks the 51st Anniversary of Earth Day. Pope Francis asks us to hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. Start thinking of what you can do to mark the day. Pick up litter on your street, plant flowers popular with bees, pray for those working to improve our environment. You can show how you care by posting on social media (including the WS Blog!) or creating a poster for your window or yard or both! Your Care for Creation team is looking forward to seeing your creativity! If you are able, consider donating to one of the many organizations working on this issue. Some possibilities:

CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES RICE BOWL LENTEN PROGRAM: COMMUNITY IN MADAGASCAR
Poor nutrition can lead to devastating long-term consequences for individuals, communities, and entire countries. That’s why communities must work together to ensure that all children have access to better food and nutrition. New planting and cooking techniques are helping many communities in Madagascar improve the health and wellbeing of their children. How does your community work together for the good of others? Visit crsricebowl.org to learn more and remember to turn in your Rice Bowl at Mass or the Pastoral Center. You can also donate online securely at our website. Thank you for your generosity! LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH
VOICES OF HOPE
A parishioner, Mia Sazon, sent this video to Marion Kari. She shared it with her Faith formation class. Marion thought it would be a great message for our newsletter this week. To share to our whole community, given the tragedy that we are all witnessing! Mia's message was
"As we enter Holy Week on Palm Sunday, I thought I'd share the attached Stop Hate message to my Faith Formation class as they
go on Easter Break."

"It is with heavy hearts that we offer this statement regarding the recent acts of violence and hatred against our Asian American brothers and sisters. The recent attacks, both nationally and locally in our own archdiocese, are indicative of a new era of hatred that must come to an end. "

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CHURCH IS KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON! As many of you can see, we have kept our Christmas lights up on our large spruce tree in front of the church as a sign of hope not only in the midst of a pandemic but also as a beacon of light to the injustice of racism. Let us all strive to be a light to all we meet!
